@@Maquinamqc sure elite has some things star citizen doesn't but star citizen has a bunch of things elite doesn't too.. and the whole argument that star citizen wont come out is the dumbest argument ever... they sank hundreds of millions into its development to not release it? thats the worst business model on the planet.. if they release the game they would make billions.. they clearly will release it. even if they just optimize what they currently have and release it, it would result in massive profits. not sure how much you play SC but doesnt sound like you have much experience with it.. i have over 36 weeks of play time in Elite so im well aware of everything you said. the experience of EVA, ship interiors, rivers, oceans, caves, weather, 5x the amount of ships, alien ships, wayy more ground vehicles with hover bikes, no need to wing up you just walk onto your friends ship, share all missions not only wing missions, you can upgrade ships in SC without grinding your face off, way more dynamic missions, way more suits and customizations, survival elements, much more realistic etc etc.. it creates an experience that completely dwarfs Elite. although i love Elite Dangerous my over all experience in Star Citizen does not compare. i prefer to be in the SC universe now days, especially because the game is actively developing and continually getting better and better instead of stagnating like elite because frontier wont put money into it anymore.. asked for space legs for 8 years.. they gave us ground legs instead.. only 3 suits.. elite dangerous is fantastic.. odyssey is a meaningless grind trash fest.

I've got access to the alpha stage of the game and also to the Squadron 42 release since I bought the package 9 years ago. 2 years ago, they decided to sell both packages separately and today you can't buy the squadron 42 package until they give a release date to pre-order it. And no, you don't need to pay a lot of money to be a "beta tester", you can access to the alpha by paying 45 bucks. Then you can grind some in-game money and buy a better ship. If you noticed, I've never said something about "release" since I'm not really looking forward to it. The game is playable right now, it has less bugs than most of triple A games and you can do a lot. And since it is in Alpha, they are still adding features that improves your experience. Just like playing Escape from tarkov, game that has been in beta for more than 5 years.

It is very true that Elite, uses way more of truth in its space than SC. So for example; if asked about the planets/bodies that is showcased in this video,... which one most likely to resemble the truth of those planets/bodies? Elite, or SC? Mind you, that looking at a planet/body, from 1000s + miles away, is NOT, the same as placing foot onto that planet/body. So for now it's more accurate, and safe to say that most planets/bodies don't have all that going on as such as what is displayed in SC, and most likely to be the way it's shown in Elite. And yes, in reality, planets/bodies will not differ all that greatly from one another. Show me a square, triangle, flat, Octagonal, planet/body, with brooms, or fishing poles for trees, and motor oil for drinking, as well as fireplaces, televisions, steering wheels, and window curtains as animal life/ wildlife. The argument of "everything looks the same", is,... Well,... Yes it does. 400+ billion star systems and half with life, half baren. Half with water, and half dry. Half with atmosphere, half without atmosphere. And if that were the reality of our Real Galaxy, in-game, everything would "still" look the same. Example: I bought a car a few years ago, that I had not seen much of, as far as others driving one like it. So it felt like I was one of the few that had it. Then,... @@xxGjbbyxx Yes, one planet/moon will look much like the next. The problems is, when the planets/moons ARE mostly the same, you KNOW they're the same as what you've seen before. Oh, there's a gas giant/terrestrial/ocean/arid/volcanic planet. Once you've explored one type of planet, you KNOW what's on the next 100,000 versions of it. What's the point of going there? That's also a problem with tilesets. Once you've encountered a certain tileset, you know what's on that tile, no matter what other tiles are butted up against it. There's no sense of wonder at what MIGHT be there. Now If every celestial orb is different, who knows what you might find. They're planning on adding natural wonders type things to the planets in SC. Even without them, the worlds are huge and there's a new vista a few kilometers away. You never know what you might find over the horizon. Now granted, my experience with E:D is mostly from is original release. They've added explorable moons since then. So maybe it gives you that sense of exploration. If so, enjoy! If YOU'RE happy with it, that's all that matters right? It's whichever games speaks to you personally that's the best game... for you.

Ah yes, 480,000,000,000 pictures you can visit. You do know that only .001% of the planets in ED can actually be landed on, every planet in SC can be landed on. Did you know that every single planet you can land on in ED is the exact same with the difference of color. Every planet in SC is uniquely crafted with different biomes, gravity, vegetation, and in the near future most will have wildlife. In it's current state SC has more planetary content in its 1 star system than 80% of ED. And I say 80% because ED does have more bases present in its star systems than SC does. But if you want to measure variety in that, SC has WAY more on 1 planet than all of ED does. ED has 3 unique planetary base types, SC on 1 planet alone has 10. And that's for now, next quarter when base building is introduced that will skyrocket

They won't, ED is done, they run on live support crew. You know how games release, have few expansions, some updates and then devs move on ? You laugh at ed but in that time frontier made, ed, planet zoo, planet coaster, jurassic park game, 2022 f1 manager, 2022 f1 manager and is now developing warhammer 40k game. They actualy sold all games rather well with good reviews. Mean time you still have SC alpha.

There are channels that upload buttery smooth 4k footage, i only have a $1500 pre build pc though..

After optimizing i get around 50fps and it rarely goes below 30, where as in this video it was at like 24 fps with a lot of server based stuttering. im not fussy with fps so anything above 30 im happy.

ED for flight model, scale of galaxy/solar systems, stability, and performance. Emphasis on stability and performance. HUGE emphasis.

As for scale I’d like to see 9 or 10 systems but Ed’s approach of filling the world with vast nothingness and barren rocks is no where near as interesting as full scale environmental planets that will eventually become a lot more important with the implementation of base building

I disagree with this flight model bit, because the ships in SC follow Neutonian physics, and damage to your ship/thrusters actually greatly affects your ability to fly. Next big update will contain atmospheric flight models too (CitizenCon 2023). So it has more "realistic" flying than E:D.

It's disingenuous to say it's been in development since 2012. That was when the kick starter first opened. First few years were starting the studio then they had to make a new engine so in reality development proper for the actual game didn't really start until like 2017-18.

Its not just the pretty graphics. SC was built from the ground as a multiplayer game. Multi-crew ships are really multi-crew, the game wants you to play with others for better efficiency. The feeling that you get out of your seat with your friends, go to the cargo ramp, open it, EVA out to a nearby wreck, loot it, transport the stuff with tractor beam to your ship, that feeling will never be replicated by ED because it was built as a traditional game where you are the ship. As opposed to you actually piloting the ship in SC and can abandon it whenever you want. SC is everything Braben promised ED will be a decade ago. Just look up the old interviews where he is stating that ships were designed with interiors in mind, that you could board another player's ship and steal it etc. That will never happen.

you're either grossly exaggerating your SC experience or you tried playing right after a bad update on free fly servers, I currently play almost everyday and literally experience NONE of the things you are talking about. the worst thing that has happened to me in the past month was a gun i was wanting to loot fell through the bunker elevator and was lost. other then that i have had 0 issues. there have been bad updates that took a week to fix in the past but that in no way is a good indication of how the game runs as a whole. when i play at low traffic times the game works flawlessly for me and i run a minimum spec pc

well it works just fine for me and i play it all the time, if it wasnt an actual game i couldnt play it all the time.. the issue isnt the game its the servers. i play at low pop times so i have 4-5 hour play sessions with no bugs or crashes all the time. and i dont play at all during freefly because those servers have never worked and never will. people get a in a bad server and then decide the game doesnt work at all..

It's getting a Single Player mode, it's a story campaign called Squadron 42, it's got a large cast of A-class actors as well, like Mark Hamill, Mark Strong, and Ben Mendelsohn, as well as others.

Any of the mentionned games can't be compared as they're focused on differents aspects i believe... Anyway as i tested SC imho they made it all into graphics and spaceships but lacked wide in the game character mechanics... so many bugs making you die uselessly and loosing everything you had on you every time... it's mostly annoying and the main reason i prefer playing a game like SF than invest my money in an 12 months insurance covered spaceship on SC to grind as much money as i can to be able to invest it into a new insurance of another little bigger spaceship than the starter one, then do it again to get a bigger ship, and again, and again. Ofc there is a faster solution, you can invest some irl grounds and get immediatly a full fleet to play with... And i'm afraid many of the actual players are those who had enough cash to pay theyr ships with irl money. In conclusion, to me SC is graphic beauty, but a grinding mp game where experienced players mainly shoot at noobies when they catch one or a "pay to play". Nice but no, thanks.

"SC has virtually no gameplay at all" are you high? i play SC everyday.. just last night i was doing a zeno event with a bunch of homies and before that i was EVA hand mining in the asteroid belt and before that i was doing bunker raids with randoms.. theres a shit ton of gameplay going on.. you either dont play it and are ignorant or you are flat out lying. and if you think ED looks bad thats your perception. i love both games and simply compare certain things between the two.

well i play and enjoy it right now as a game..

i feel the exact same way. i put 36 weeks of play time into elite over 5 years, used to call Star Citizen a scam and all.. then i tried it, learnt how to avoid and solve bugs and optimize settings for performance and it truly is a great experience.

@@x7slim8x for the first 8 years it's development was moving really slow.. now days its moving along a lot faster.. they are opening a bunch of new studios and starting to work on multiple things at once.. kinda proving that the hundreds of millions of $ they made is actually getting spent on development and not just getting pocketed.. people often say "why would they release the game if they are making hundreds of millions on its development" ..because if the game released they would make billions simply selling the game at full price in the decade that followed its release.

The bugs may come back this year, but once it's matured I hope to see a lot of Elite commanders taking their experience and skill to SC. O7

I started in Elite and loved it. Then I played SC once. Suddenly, being tied to a chair wasn't appealing anymore. There's a lot elite does well, but I like everything that SC does better.

Elite was good when i started it but when i saw SC… It fucking sucked me into it like a damn black hole. I couldn’t enjoy Elite. Elite needs dlc to walk outta the ship. And i can’t even move around in it. I felt trapped. And i moved to SC and left Elite.

well also the way how ships are being controlled, especially in VR, with a proper hotas, in ED, is unparalled amazing experience (dogfights, etc)

SC has a shit ton of lore and a lot more content then you think. i spent 45$ getting SC and have owned the majority of ships cause you can buy them in game.. its such a lie that you have to spend real money, im tiered of seeing people fall for that rumor.

As a keyboard/mouse player, VR is unappealing too me, and I have a headset ready too. I want to actually see the buttons I have to press. If I had invested in HOSAS or something, maybe, but I’d still like to see the buttons in front of me.

@@AppI3sauce My 6700 XT is going 70%-75% load in Elite Dangerous capped at 60 FPS. Borderlands 3 goes 60% (3 degrees cooler) while on ultra and capped at 60 FPS. Not complaining, but the main part of reviews on Odyssey is the avsurd system requirements. But I don't blame it, landing on a planet is glorious as fuck, no idea how Starfield relied on teleportation while we have Elite and Starcitizen on the horizon.

Look at the ratio of people who blew thousands on a pc to run it and those with a average pc able to play ED

One is rendering a barren landscape, the other is rendering trees, water, grass, etc.

Most people that see game breaking bugs or qol bugs are either on a server about to 30k or just running the game on a potato

i actually had a 5 hour game session last night where i didnt encounter a single bug believe it or not...

@@CitizenWeez Haha yeah, I get those days too, though sometimes I catch Star Citizen on a bad day and it's just random death after random death, crash after crash, not nearly as often as in the past (and tbf, I managed to solve one of my own crashes by method that no one has documented before. I had a crash whenever I entered into the game, and the logs indicated a mesh issue of the prison which cause crashing. doing a file check done nothing, erasing user data and character reset done nothing- then I opened up my SC folder, looked at the size of the data file in bytes and noticed the data file was slightly smaller than my known working client on my 2nd computer, transferred it via local connection, replacing my smaller one and whabam, no more corrupted prison mesh file (can't simply open the data file as it's an encrypted folder which I couldn't be bothered finding the tool to open it, so looking at byte size and replacing the whole data folder with a known working one works well)

I dont have the disconnects anymore either, it changed the game entirely, amazing to play now

@@CitizenWeez I had the 'trapped in the docking bay' bug, lol But overall this new release is lightyears ahead of other releases already. I only have about 30 or 40 hours in each, and I notice a big difference in SC being much more stable now.

@@Chuck8541 i used to have bugs with the hanger doors but then i started using alt+n to open the doors and it works for me every time now.

i mean im sure it happens sometimes but i play everyday and that stuff legit never happens to me. play during low pop times and you will see a massive difference.. the game works well but the servers are trash.

I love the crying for a “fuLly ReLeaSeD gaMe” … do you guys want a fully released game and then no updates like anthem? … nothing to look forward to and the team just walks away from the project? (classic EA W) orrrr do you guys not understand how capital and funding projects works, youd rather have EA do star citizen because they ALREADY have the hundreds of millions in funding. Look at what fun pimps did with 7 days to die.. started off as a VERY small project. They released it looking like a potato in beta and get FUNDING to grow into a massively popular and good game with non stop updates. Just getting this tech demo to even run is a battle the vas majority of the time. It's riddled with bugs and you can't even do much when within the demo if you do actually get it running. Get a better PC I guess if you have problems running it I have 3 pcs that all run it fine the lowest being a 1070. Regarding bugs git good at fixing them? every single bug in that game has a key you can press or an action you can do to unbug yourself. You cant expect a game with a persistent universe with massively good graphics to be bug free. 45 dolllarz is even worth it if it WAS just a tech demo. And the negating factor of it being a tech demo would be gameplay dopamine loops which do exist so its not a tech demo. Getting completionism in all missions and factions and buying all in-game ships would probably run you 1000 hours of GAMEPLAY. Maybe go swing a pic axe on runescape for 1000 hours if you consider that gaming or do your 50th play-through of skyrim.

And no, $45 isn't worth it if it's "just a tech demo" as fully-fledged games with universes that go much deeper and gameplay that is far more interesting exist at less than that price. There's seriously no saving you if you're this far gone. Sure, if this is the experience you want and it's the only way for you to get that experience then all the power to you. Just know that you're *are* being taken advantage of and this *is not* a game that is releasing any time soon... if ever to be honest.

@@CitizenWeez I found out that my 2070 super is getting its memory spiked, it only has 8gb and I believe that’s my issue I set all graphics to low and seems to have fixed what I was referring to. I knew my GC was my weak link.

I go through this 5 hour once evety year. It was once every 3 months a few years back but there was no significant change every 3 monts. Or 1 year for that matter... Features getting pushed back to the next patch. But now 4.0 is coming and the game's 2nd star system Pyro with it! Like every year since 2020. Although now it's postponed for next year. Like every year since 2020. At least now there are a few more ships and ideas of a ship (concepts is what they are calling them) that I can spend the price of a used car on. SC is in alpha stage.. not even beta. Cyberpunk was a fully released game. Not really a valid comparison.

Not true. There is ABSOLUTELY no way to make the entire galaxy of 400 BILLION star systems look as detailed as SC planets. It is why SC only has ONE system. FDev developed ED with realistic goals, set in reality. ED kept the focus on ships and what we do with them, because there are limitations If people understood development they wouldn't be so entitled

thats the beauty of space engineers though, its a sandbox game where you get to make what you want. do wish there was more existing structures and stuff but its meant to be a building game

Starfield was ass ngl. Everything felt so monotonous there wasn't any real sense of exploration and after you complete it once there is nothing to keep you playing past that new game plus. I'll be the first to say star citizen is taking its time to be completed but them again its in alpha and the disclosure on the sales page warns you about that. Now if anyone put more money into it beyond the starter package, then that's on you. No one put a gun to your head and told you to buy those ships. And if you only bought a starter package and you're bitching about being scammed out of 50 bucks just think of it as an investment to a game that will progressively get better and play or do something else until that day comes. Suck it up and move along.

yeah, too bad it's not as immersive or impressive as SC. I used to play it a lot in the Horizon days, but after having a taste of SC I can't go back, even in the terrible state the game is in currently, ED just don't have the same weight to it.

they came out with an update called odyssey and its really bad.. the worst fps experience i have ever had.. they should have kept it in space and developed EVA and ship interiors..

I have even spoken to someone who used to work for Frontier and they couldnt say much cause of their NDA but they said they were embarrassed over the state of odyssey. If you think Odyssey is amazing you are in a tiny minority that i didnt even know existed.

So anyway, you have fundamentally admitted that this video was created with a bias against Elite and towards Star Citizen rather than a fair comparison. That's not that much money for game studios...COD mobile made $1 billion in one year, the normal COD game made $500 million in just two weeks. Star Citizen has gotten the $500M over the span of TEN YEARS, and they've spent it all on development and keeping the studios/staff running. It literally costs $30M a year give or take just for salaries a year and you think $500M is a lot lmao.

You need friends in any game. I only play SC because I found a pretty Poppin discord where the ppl help each other and group up often. Like a lil community. Without that I couldn't do it.

Why sc still in alpha because they want to fix and make it better game with realistic experience that no other game can give without issues, that's why they still on alpha, and the dev even still care much the game and giving a lot of update to make it better

Games that create code rather than copy often have more bugs...comes with the territory. Also, 1 of these games is still growing and the other is on life support.

it used to be the same with ED after years of complaining they finally made a tutorial mode. SC is in alpha stage of development, you shouldn't be expecting tutorials of shit that may or may not be in the final release. also realize that the tutorial stuff is probably going to part of the story version of the game squadron 42 isnt available to play, ut playing as a tester not a consumer. It took me a good week to learn half the controls and get comfortable with them.. thats just part of playing a new game anyway.

@Citizen Weez yeah it's an alpha that it appears will never leave alpha I bought ED in 2015 and never had the issues of how the hell do I launch my ship etc that I experienced trying SC which has been in development since 2011 ED at launch just had some things be intuitive but SC seems to make things complicated for the sake of making them complicated and they charge more for items in an alpha than many released games

@@txchris3802 you dont have to spend real money. and the point of them selling ships for real money is to fund the project. you cant complain about the price it costs and the time it takes to make the game. they could have sold out to investors and share holders and made a shit space mmo in 4 years or they can get us to help fund it and take the time they need to make a game thats never been made before. if you are too lazy to do simple google searches or just ask in the in game chat about controls or mechanics then thats your problem. i learnt the controls and havnt needed to change a single one because they are intuitive enough for me. you should probably stay away from games that have a steep learning curve.. you wont enjoy any of them.

i have an i7 1660 16gb ram pc if i had 32gb ram i would get between 40-50fps but im stuck with 24-30fps for now.. you really dont need an amazing pc to play SC

@CitizenWeez I have an i7-10700 with a 3070RTX card with 16GB of RAM and was lucky to get 24FPS. I don't know how you've achieved those numbers, unless they've done a lot of optimisation since I last played

@@spartanDJChalo yea its the ram.. the game is very cpu heavy. make it 32bg ram and it makes the biggest difference. when i made this video i sat between 24-30, now i sit between 27-30.. i did a bunch of in and out of game optimizing obviously i have the game on an SSD and i made a virtual ram/page file and i looked up "optimization for star citizen" videos and followed along on a few different ones. they make a good difference.

SC is and has fixed a lot of that already. You can now find derelict crashed ships, some of which are inhabited, either abandoned or inhabited small outposts either by local inhabitants, or smugglers. Some are marked PVE areas and some are not and you just stumble across them buy simply exploring. And in the next update they add even more fauna life. Plants, and a couple animals. With more planned for future releases. And yes you can hunt the animals too.

i run SC on a $1500 pre build just fine now days.. and sure it has a separate launcher but it kind irrelevant when SC now days is just a better over all experience. i have over 6k hours in ED so i obviously like it but SC has become better in the past couple years.

No not really. Because it’s a complete different game. To big for Singleplayer. I (subjektiv) i want a verse with 1000s of other players. Normal and Friendly and Pirates. There need to be some danger. If i die then my character is gone forever so i make a new one and have to start over like a hardcore mode. This is what star Citizen wants to offer some day and this is what I want. I think it’s boring when you fly around alone with no crew and no danger of being killed/robed bei other players. But if this is yours, go for it. Have fun playing SF. I also think that SF will be a successfull game after a long period of time with patches and mods. I also knew Bethesda and the Game will be a mess at release.

they lied so badly about SF i ended up canceling my pre order and pretending it doesnt exist. in the promo vid they said things like, "when YOU land your ship on a planet" and "we had to build the technology from scratch to create this game" or "we believe in exploration"... im sitting there like bruh.. you cant land your own ship, you used the same old game engine and if you wonder to far on a planet you run into the end of the map cause the planets dont actually exist. so i was just dont with it, its garbage and i already play Star Citizen i dont care when it comes out.

SC is the fruit growing in the field. ED is the pile of bird shit in the field. While SC will bear fruit. SC had potential, it was squandered by dumb decision making, and now it’s just a pile of excrement.
