In today's video, I give you 4 pro-level 1 v 1 Moves that Work EVERY time. These basketball scoring tips are sure to supercharge your scoring in 1 v 1 or ISO situations! These simple 1 v 1 secrets are super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these basketball scoring tips into your basketball workouts you can almost immediately skyrocket your scoring, and add some serious moves to your game!
The first 1 v 1 move is the jab catch. This is one of my absolute favorite 1 v 1 moves because it automatically gets the defense move on the catch. the reason for this is If you are a smaller guard you have to take advantage every single time you get any sort of separation. So by being ready to fire when you get some daylight, you will surely score more point in 1 v 1 or Iso situations. This way of thinking is great for athletes at every level. It works on really forcing you to engage your mind in playing a more reactionary style of basketball as opposed to thinking about what move or shot you want to get! This is something that all the top scorers in the NBA do, think of guys like Stephen Curry and James Harden. They are super-elite in terms of taking what the defense gives them and making them pay.
My 2nd tip is to manipulate on the catch, this is another way to make sure you are able to get your defender out of position without even putting down a dribble. The reason why this is such a helpful scoring tip is that by getting them out of position early it's easier to create massive separation since you still have your dribble live. Guys like Kevin Durant do a really great job of this, being patient on the catch and making the defender give them a top foot. Manipulate on the catch and I promise you will score more points in iso and 1 v 1 situations.
My last tip is to catch downhill! Though this seems self-explanatory it can really help smaller guards get the advantage on the defense. By catching downhill and getting the defender on their heels it gives you so many more scoring options. It really forces defenders to make a choice, and by doing that they will leave something open whether that's a drive to the basket or an open shot from three! Some of the top small guards in the NBA do a great job of catching downhill on their attack think of a guard like Kemba Walker who is one of the shiftiest guards in the league and always does an awesome job of keeping the defense on their heels!
The next move is the cross-step pound I love this move is because like the other moves in this video it really forces the defense to move without you having to put down a dribble. With this move, it's incredibly important to really use your eye and shoulder to manipulate the defender! If you can do those two things you will without a doubt get massive separation!
Alright splasharmy, that's it for my must-have 1 v 1 moves that work every time. These basketball scoring tips are super crucial if you are really looking to take that next step as a basketball player. Make sure you implement these tips and skyrocket your scoring today!

I didn't pick up a basketball until I was in high school so other than shooting I actually suck. But move #2 combined with #3 has basically been my bread & butter and it's super effective for anyone who doesn't necessarily have a good all around game.

isnt that last move a travel when you cross step with your right,, your left becomes your pivot foot, and as you rip across from your right to your left. the training partner lifted his his left foot while exploding off the right, all before a dribble. i get called "travelling like this". Any thoughts?
