We had a small wedding at a beautiful state park. I paid $ 3200 for my suit rental, ring and dinner for all. My wife spent around $ 2600 for her dress, hair/makeup, officiant, photographer and my ring. She was more than willing to help pay for our wedding. That is the kind of woman I want by my side, we are a team in everything. Now off we go to south Florida for a fun and relaxing honeymoon.

This was really confusing for me too. I really don’t think there was any hidden meaning in his question. The team is always very adamant to NEVER combine accounts if you aren’t married. But that begs the question… how do you pay for the wedding? Someone picks up the dress and the other picks up the food? This is the first time I heard Dave say it is ok to combine and mutually fund an account, counter to what him and the team usually say. That seems to make a lot of sense to me, and forces you to budget!

I spent about 600 on my new fiancées rings total and all I ever do I work and save. But in moral of the lesson is stay out of debt and set a budget for the wedding. I mean this guy that’s calling in is really asking the wrong question. He should really be asking himself why he’s dumb enough to get married in the first place. It is no secret that today because of the Internet ignorance is a choice and if you’re a guy and you’re ignorant to all of the risks associated with getting married and the fact that you gain absolutely nothing from getting married and you choose to do it anyway that is your fault and will become your problem he wouldn’t have to worry about splitting the wedding costs which of course is money down the toilet if he wasn’t getting married in the first place. There is absolutely no reason for a guy to get married to a woman today you can do everything you can do when you’re married without being married have kids live together by a house together put each other on health insurance etc. and then when you half to MoveOn which happens at least 50% of the time the costs associated with the split will be much less so if you want to get married at your own peril if you’re a guy go right ahead. It absolutely blows my mind how many guys still even today are willing to walk into the slaughterhouse which is the institution of marriage today.

@@KurtisB no girl did I just know that getting legally married is statistically a terrible idea I’m not saying you can’t have a relationship I’m just saying the relationship should be between you and the girl not you the girl in the state. The statistics for success rates of being happily married or abysmal they are reckoned to winning the lottery I don’t play the lottery either and I’m talking about the statistics to get married and stay happily married till one of you dies the chances that are astronomically low as such there is no reason to risk all the costs associated with being married and getting divorced not to mention if you have to end the relationship for any reason you want that to be as simple of a process as possible there’s a myriad of reasons why you might have to end the relationship you want it to be clean quick and simple and inexpensive to exit the set no reason to complicate things. And on the off chance it works out like I said you can still do everything with the girl that you could when you’re married except file taxes together which is not necessary.

It is traditional that the father of the bride pays for the wedding, with the exception of the rings. I'm in my late 20's and hope to get married at some point and have reminded my father infrequently about saving for this expense. If there isn't a father, grandfather, or stepfather, the mother of the bride pays.

Shame on you to force this expense on your father or anyone else. The Groom/Bride pay for their wedding period
@ShayKMBR
@ShayKMBR 2 жыл бұрын
@@r4ym1n13 My family and I are traditional. My father and I have discussed this, it's not forced, especially if the father wants the best for his daughter. In addition, in our culture the husband to be, once married, takes on the full responsibility of his wife, which is why the tradition of the bride being "given away" by her father, is a thing. A father gives his daughter, and all that comes along with her, to another man, essentially saying "I have fulfilled my obligations". Once wed, if they divorce, then the man will likely pay the expenses from then forward in alimony, etc. So it is actually a gift to the new couple when the family of the bride pays for the wedding, because there is always a chance the husband may pay for divorce. Why put the guy through possible financial strain twice? Especially when the parents are aware that that is their duty and gift to their daughter, since it is more often considered "her day".

@@Aces135 I couldn't agree more! But I am a traditional woman in the modern age. Why can't it be all of the above? I currently take care of my hardworking man. Even though he can't contribute "equally " I still love him. Doesn't mean I'm still not going to request my father of something he would enjoy doing anyway 😇
