Congratulations. I have been waiting for mine since last December. I went with the Cal. Quintus 2010.4 Big Date. Slamon dial with blue hands and blue applied Arabic numerals.. Cant wait to get it in a few months. Why buy a overpriced ,hyped Rolex. This is watch making at its finest.

Aha yeah I surprised myself - normally don’t like Milanese straps but I think it complements the watch super well and fits the vintage dressy aesthetic

The mesh is actually from ‘Watch Gecko’ - fairly inexpensive and surprisingly wearable. Haha yes I have definitely seen the 1941 - Gronefeld is a grail brand for me, but sadly with their price and wait times, still a long long way off

Good eyes and ears, yes on both accounts 👍 That being said the movement is built on an ETA-6498, but they replace a lot of it with their own handmade components

@@harryblack Yeah the three quarter back plate is signature of German Watchmakers. ALS does that in all their manual winds too. Ironically the only other place where I've seen 3/4 back plate was in the super cheap BFG 866 pin pallet escapement movements.

Hey Joe! Yes ahah I remember your comment - told you there was a movement one coming soon. Will probably make some videos on some other pieces soon and will return to the Dornbluth after I’ve worn it for a while. Thank you for the recommendation, I hadn’t come across the brand before, to me they seem like a cross between Dornbluth and Garrick, so safe to say they are now on my radar 😂

@@harryblack Hello Quickset, thank you for the video, Dornbluth is also on my radar. As for Laine Watches, it is only 1 guy right now, that is what makes it so compelling! Let me blow your mind a little; He worked with Kari Voutilaine and Lange-went on to win Lange's Award for best up and coming watchmaker. Please I ask that you keep in touch with me because I am working with Mr. Laine to bring down the size of his current watch case to roughly 40mm and a lug width of 48 so that it will even be more managable than the Dornbluth which is at 51mm lug to lug. I prefer smaller watches but it is still a very compelling package and an understanding one since it utilizes a pocket watch movement with hand finishing that will rival most of the very best in the commercial sector. Simply from an educational stand point, they are great purchases.
