Thanks for the great review! Have a quick question - do we need a separate microphone or does this Jabra 510 come with an inbuilt microphone? What would you recommend? Thanks!

Great question. The Jabra 510 has a built in microphone so there's no need to buy anything additional.

Thanks for the good review, you cleared a lot of the questions. Quick question regarding the microphone, can you hear the other person speak while speaking on the microphone?

Yes, this is a speakerphone with microphones built in so you will be able to heard and be heard on a call.

Does mute work when using on teams? I know certain headsets won't actually mute when on teams calls. Thanks.

Thanks for the video! Much appreciated. You mentioned the wireless dongle has “advanced features”. Can you expand on that please? Also, what is the quality difference when you use the wireless dongle vs the usb cable?

Nice review! By the way, can you use a different mic and just use Jabra as your speaker while on Zoom conference? Will it create echo or feedback or that's what the "Echo Cancelling" is for?

If you used a desktop microphone for example, it shouldn't cause an echo or feedback. With a headset microphone, I don't have the exact answer as we haven't tested this but have a feeling it will cause an echo or feedback on the call.

I assume when testing the microphone aspect you selected the 510 as the source microphone on the computer and when testing for sound quality the 510 then played through your system speakers and not through the speaker of the 510. If this is the case I would be able to use the 510 to record a group discussion with several participants. Have I assumed correctly? Thanks

Hmm not 100% sure the exact question but yes we record directly through the Speak 510 (select microphone Speak 510 on voice recorder app on windows) then when testing speaker quality select Speak 510 speaker and record on our camera microphone to pick up the sound. If you want to record a group discussion I would do this 2 ways 1) if only needing to record local people just pull up voice recorder on computer select speak 510 for the mic and record 2) if you need local people and remote people then use a tool like Zoom, use speak 510 on zoom for mic/speakers, then just record the zoom meeting.

I'm wondering if the microphone quality stays the same with bluetooth connection while not using the dongle. I couldn't find anyone testing that.

Without using the dongle, audio quality with speaker and mic will be degraded.

Can I use this to record noise from stomping feet from neighbours above at night? even faint ones?

Thanks for the review. Just a suggestion; testing a microphone in a perfectly quiet room with a fairly loud voice isn't that much of a challenge even from 8 feet away. How about speaking more quietly? 👍🙂
