God, judging these stylistic differences is so subjective and must be a nightmare to call ... This is an amazing season. Every drummer has absolutely killed it thus far

Alexis eventually brought what was missing the most since the beginning of the contest: Groove! His two solos were groovy as hell, while maintaining the power required for Metal music. There were obvious latin influences and also some jazz in there and he has great dynamic, even exploiting all the sonorities of his snare (this roll at the beginning of the second solo :o). Shareef was also very good, really solid, very regular beat, the guy is an effortless metronome. As the judges said, there is nothing wrong with his playing he was really good, just lost to even better than him. The competition has been tough so far, can't wait to see the rest. Expecting more groove and polyrhythm :P !

Couldn't expect any better from 30 years of drumming. His playing is so mature

Shareef was impressive on his first solo but then Alexis came and smashed his hopes. Alexis was amazing on speed, dynamics, improv and also had different elements of drumming.

As a 44yr old metal head, my favourite part of watching a live metal band is the drummer, especially some double kick pounding into your brain. Enjoyed this show.

Finally, someone that knows what dynamics are. Alexis (skeletor) is the most well rounded drummer so far. he'll be one of the finalists if not taking this whole competition.

I love how non-metal Alexis starts his performances then builds upwards, very well crafted!

Enjoying this a lot! One thing I will say, though, is that while I appreciate the tight editing - it's certainly easy to fit in an episode a day at ~10 mins - I could easily watch more, maybe 20 or even 30 mins. I'd like to see, in particular, more of the panel's comments. Hopefully the later episodes, especially the final, will be longer. I love this kind of content. Great stuff!

Alexis is a really professional drummer that has been working his ass off through out the years so it is really cool to see him in this kind of show where many people can get to know him a lot more!

Once again the judges insights are spot on. Loved both performances and I'd be proud to be in a band with either Shareef or Alexis. The flair Alexis brought by incorporating outside influences really pushed his performance over the top. I'm a guitarist and I have to say, the drummers this season have blown the previous seasons away by a wide margin. These are top notch musicians!

tbh I feel like Shredders of Metal has made drums look cooler than guitar. With guitar you're standing there and moving hand up and down, with drums your entire body is all over the place, the tricks you can do and range of motion, just looks so killer!

This all unfolds as I'm starting to pick up drumming again after a decade. Saving up everything to get a decent kit. This season so far has been nothing but spectacular. From the contestants to the comments from the judges. Hats off for making the tough calls. On to the semi-finals.

I have to say that I myself feel not only privileged but honored to be able to witness such amazing talent such as Alexis Von Kraven!!! Totally killed it and the skills with the bass drums are mind blowing, the use between the bass drums and the cymbals are over the top and I am so unbelievably happy he won, he deserves to he is what great music is made of!!! ❤🤟🤟🤘🤘🤟🤟🤘🤘❤❤

It’s strange, as a whole I prefer the guitar, but with these competitions vs previous systems I’m preferring watching the drums.

When the masked dude started i could immediatly hear a Neil Peart influence, which makes him my favourite straight away.

I just saw the first 4 episodes. At the end of the day, drumming is about rythm, and Alexis was the only contestant who played with rythm and groove so far. (EDIT: Vitto did a good job too)

Alexis has such groovy and catchy phrasings as well as extremely balanced dynamics. He definitely deserves to WIN the whole damn thing! 🥁

This is the best season so far and I'm not even a drummer! Very entertaining to watch and all the drummers are solid in the instrument!

It seems like on this season there are really dedicated musicians. Super natural drummers all of them...sadly cant say the same thing about season 1 (except for the finalists) and season 2 ( except for the runner up!!). I hope the quality really goes up in forth coming seasons!!! Thanks BangerTV!!

The quality of musicianship compared to the guitar battles is ridiculous. These drummers are so much fun to watch and listen to

I just gotta say I am an immediate fan of any band that hires Alexis as their drummer

Every drummer has been amazing...Chris from the previous round plays in Old James and has even toured with Enforcer, Mike played with Annihilator for a long time, Shareef was in Razor for a period of time and his band Invictus is killer....and Alexis is just insanity! The judges were probably dying when they had to pick a winner. So much talent

Skullguy also has the cymbals quite high, that makes a HUGE difference in recording drums, less bleed on the close mics, very cool!!

So much talent from Canada. I wonder what we will see if they make this competition Global.

They were both fantastic, I loved the dynamics Alexis displayed. Shareef's band Invicta are killer, had the pleasure of seeing them live. Both great drummers in their own right!

I've gotta say... Shareef's introductory solo was quite off, to me at least, almost felt directionless. Yes, the playing was incredible but, I didn't get much feel from it, it didn't really have a direction. His second solo was better and had much more of a direction, but still lacked a little bit of feeling. I really enjoyed his performances, of course. Just what I got from them. What isn't there to say about Alexis? His playing was solid and smooth, there was beautiful influences of latin of course, his feel was on point and really stood out straight up. Don't know what else I'd say about this..!

The masked drummer is the best on this episode.. both drummers are incredible tho.. killer show guys!! As a drummer myself, this is something I've been wanting to see for a very very long time and here it is..lol.. great stuff! Can't wait to see who wins this..

I was afraid for this episode because so far we hadnt seen anyone mess up, at least to my untrained ears I havent noticed anyone mess up, but I believe this opening round has been pretty much screw up free. This was the most "chill" drum off, while both exhibited speed, there was more groove in all 4 performances than in previous episodes. I couldnt make a clear choice, so i cant disagree with the judges.

Vito vs Alexis is gonna be sick! Oh man! Can't wait! Whoever wins this is gonna be the Winner.

Loving Alexis' tribal influences. He's not only a great drummer but seems to be quite the formidable overall percussionist as well. Very spicy.

Both these dudes killed it, but I agree with the judges' call. Alexis has a sense of dynamics that we haven't seen in this contest so far, and his whole performance is just oozing with unique creativity. Kudos to that dude, kind of hoping he wins it.

Alexis for me. Shareef was fast and technical but Alexis just had the groove factor too.

All these drummers were awesome in their own way, but they all kinda thrashed and blazed through it. Alexis finally brought what I was waiting for. Some groove, verity and innovation. Metal is not just about speed and technicality. I hope Alexis wins the whole show

There has not been a single bad drummer this whole time. I didn't agree with the decision in episode 3. Mike Harshaw was clearly the better drummer, but I'm lovin' this series.
