For starters in his old lore renekton didnt go crazy off his own power, he went crazy from reading the intentions of people and constantly being influenced by the negative ones (or something around those lines)

No rafaelfmolina you are the moron. The old lore was loads better: Sivir: Famous mercenary well known for her battle skills and she was basically the boba fett (in the EU) of the League series. Badass mercenary with a strong following. Cassiopedia: Noxius Princess well known for being manipulating and skillful at politics unlike her sister katarina. She was punished for all of the sins she committed and turned into a snake which was a suiting punishment because it took away the beauty she often utilized to advance her goals. Renekton: A powerful ancient god who acted as guardian of the ancient secrets Nasus knows about. He goes mad because he witnesses all of the misdeeds of humanity and decides it is better to end them all rather keep these things going. Nasus and him fight over this and Renekton fully gave into his rage to become more powerful than his brother and this hatred consumes him so much that he hunts Nasus anywhere he goes. On top of that, Nasus is taken to the League accidentally and Renekton is so god damn powerful that he himself finds his way to the League on his own (and if you read his judgment you find out that he basically finds his way on summoner's rift and wrecks everybody shit until him and Nasus kill each other and respawn) Nasus: Powerful being witholding the ancient secrets that only gods like him can know but it comes at a price since everything including his brother is lost to him. It shows that having important knowledge comes at a hefty price. Xerath: WTF!? You obviously haven't read Xerath's old bio and League judgment. He was a well known mage he dabbled in forbidden arts because he was the best of his kind and wanted to know more. Eventually, Xerath realizes that to ascend to the most powerful Arcane being possible he has to sacrifice his own body to do it and so he sacrifices everything to understand more. Unfortunately, the mages who knew him couldn't let this happen and so they chained him down because his power was so dangerous and unknown. Xerath learns that the power of the Nexus can break his chains and so he joins the league for that. It's really sad that you totally don't see the beauty of the old lore. Everyone had a clear mission and moral purpose but this new lore extremely dumbs it down and takes away the personal conflicts each character had. Now many characters are just straight up one dimensional: Renekton-good guy who sacrifices himself, Xerath- evil mage who is evil for some reason. The old lore had so much more depth.

the Transformation Lore here is better than the old. Makes a bit more sense. instead of breaking an oath on a Serpentine Blade, causing her to change, the Ancient curse of a Long lost kingdom sounds much better.

Because a lot of champs and a lot of sense where we were involved is what made the story unique and fun. Granted, everything was messy and unclearly explained, but it made room for your own story. Riot related us, the summoners, to the game, and made "The League of Legends" "The Fields of Justice" and other aspects of this lore to do with us. We "made" champions like Brand, Fiddlesticks, and others all happen. We are the ones that dispute, not the characters themselves. We just help them find their lives by controlling them.

I wouldn't get hung up on this. A lot of lore of the older champions were made when they had originally attempted a more deeper connection between many of the champions, in and out of the battlefield. Cass's lore is also not the first one to be re-written

They changed the lore obviously... sivir and cassio werent connected until this story was made. Like obviously they read cassiopias lore but it felt to disconnected from the rest of the characters (the only relationship she had was katarina being her sister). This giver the character a legitimately interesting and dynamic backstory were she has interactions with sivir, renek, azir and nasus and a goal that isnt vague like just serving noxus.

The old lore was stupid, just an excuse for the game to exist.

I mean, the lore previous was pretty much a big heap of trash with confusing links, stuff that flat out makes no sense, and plot holes everywhere. There were some cool backstories and stuff but as a whole if they wan't to actually have an overarching story that makes some sort of sense(and they seem to want that) they really just had to start from scratch.

When they remade a bunch of the champion's lore and promised more interaction? Remember what happened afterwards? No? That's because nothing happened Even before that, when they shut down the JoJ, a great way to transmit lore at a regular basis while still pumping out event every once in a while, they closed it in favour of other ways of storytelling. Wait, I mean other "way" since they only did one, the twisted treeline narrative which was left at that as well... Can you see the pattern? The point is this isn't the first time this is happening, you can't expect the oldies not to be outraged by the bs move of "oh, it just never happened". Shit like Ionia vs Nexus, that's what we want, players actually having an impact on the story. Morainehills I get that, but instead of removing shit because it's obstructive, they should be creative, it's their fucking job.

All the previous lore was made into "never happened". So yeah they're slowly rewriting everything and have to completely redo the backstories of some.

I think they aren't going too, something about game play doesn't need to be explained by lore. It's all separate. A fun game now... and a book/stories Nothing to do with one another at all. Riot is "rebooting" the lore. For old champs that are getting updates either most or eventually all of them that had a reason why to join the league of legends will be changed. The original vanilla lore Demacia vs noxus and the conspiracy of them which ended at swain becoming high commander and his skin, tyrant swain is suppose to be his new lore look will still be their but reasons for joining the league will be changed.
