Just found these in a zoo in Mexico City and I just became a very big fan, I am now super fascinated with siamangs, how they howl, be noisy, and be super active, it's now one of my favorite animals of all time. The siamang howling and activity it's like watching an orchestral symphony in a theater, only better! The world definitely needs more siamang videos.

Grew up next to a zoo and heard these guys every morning of my life. Now I watch these videos when I'm homesick😂😂

I was at the zoo in Washington DC this past summer and there were a whole bunch of these guys who went on for like an hour howling like this. The funniest part was that the howling would kind of fizzle out and it would be quiet for a minute, but then one of them would start up again and all of a sudden they were ALL going again.

I just had to see what was running through schlatts head while talking about gibbons.

I think the howls of these monkeys are just downright hilarious and funny. One time, when I was a kid, I started to tease my little sister mercilessly at the zoo. I would say, "There's your boyfriend. He says he loves you." And these monkeys would start howling. She would yell, " Shut up!" and cry. Then I would say, "He says he will take you to the dance." And again these monkeys would start howling. And again she would yell, "Shut up!" Last, I would say, "He says after the dance, he'll take you to the ice cream parlor and share a banana split with you." And again, these monkeys would start howling yet again. And again she would yell, "Shut up!" and cry. I thought that was so hilarious and funny that I was laughing really hard! Needless to say, once we got back to the car, my Dad let me have it and popped me across the head and spanked me pretty hard! I had it coming, but it sure was worth it. Ah, the good old days and memories!

We enjoy that sound every morning & afternoon in our smalltown. Kerinci Sumatera Indonesia. The Siamangs are very adorable animal. The Forest fire in my country especially Sumatera & Kalimantan island is really really make Siamang & Orangutan threatened. So sad 😭. I don't know why the human can be so cruel. 😭 --- Save our forest , save our animals, save our earth.

These have got to be the craziest looking and craziest sounding primates I've ever seen! Really amazing. I've heard that howling before but I didn't realize these were the animals it came from.

I'll never NOT be amazed at the way gibbons traverse. They're nature's greatest parkour artists!

These beautiful small apes with their amazing calls are part of my childhood - I lived 2 miles from the San Diego Zoo, and we could hear this extraordinary call every morning, as they will call out their territory. So beautiful, and evocative of wildness. I was very fortunate to work at The San Diego Zoo for 10 years, and hear these, as well as many other primate & bird calls early every morning, as the animals wake.
