By request here is more info on "sidestepping" 9 Chords when comping through a C Blues. Fun stuff and really works!! Enjoy :)

Easy trick. Play a minor triad from the 5th below the root of the chord. G minor over a C equals C9.

Thanks Mike, I've always loved the 9th chords. I learned of them when I was a kid, playing along with a record of the Allman Brothers version of Stormy Monday.

I like to play a lot of these chords in my Blues Rock Band. Sometimes I'll add a sharp nine to get some edgy sound.
