Last year as I was touring the Gardens at Ball in West Chicago, IL, one color stood out from the rest. And there were A LOT of colors! But silver was the standout, specifically silver foliage, and it was everywhere.
I have five new silver plants and two not-so-new but definitely worthy of consideration for what they bring to the garden. All are waterwise, as silver foliage plants tend to be, and all except one are perfect great for sunny spaces and containers. There's also a spectacular silver plant for all you deep shade gardeners!
And here's the link to order Salvia argentea 'Artemis' seeds...

Be on the lookout for these plants at garden centers this year!
Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5B, recently changed to 6a, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.
