Sorry but City wernt looking like they were getting relegated when taken over. BIG difference. Also Trippier came from City. Most people forget that. Their academy is pumping out top players all the time like Foden, Sancho, Trippier all 3 at the world cup with England. Inhanacho, Garcia, Schmeichel, Adarabioyo, Ben Mee, all playing at top level today, to name a few.

Agreed mate. The fact is, we actually don't know why. Yes, money is a huge part but I'm sure he's still got ambitions to achieve. Keeping Newcastle up will be like winning the league and the fans are unbelievable. Great club to play for and the money is a bonus. It's not like he's going to Gateshead is he? They are still in the prem and they are going to be on a massive rebuild why not be a part of it and get paid extremely well.

Trippier went for the project. He is a hero at Newcastle. He wanted to work with Eddie Howe with a view to becoming a future manager. I think Jordan needs to do his research. Look at the owners transfer policy: no huge wages and no overpaying for mercenary trophy players as they understood FFP plus the determination of the so called big six to maintain their Cartel. Trevor was 100% right.

If I was Trippier who let's assume is like the average English footballer in terms of intellectual capacity and cultural appreciation I would be sprinting home over the sea. He's won the league in Spain he can come back to Blighty where he will truly feel at 'home'. He can come back to a club who will pay him tons more than anyone else. Then he will clearly be the number one right back at potentially the next super club. 55 thousand fans. It's a dream move for all reasons including money and including glory.

I agree with both parties and tbh they are just arguing egos. It's an opinion, nobody truly knows why Trippier has decided to go to Newcastle, the easy opinion and most logical would be the money and yes players go for the money and it doesn't matter about the club. Players want paying and today they are paid well. I also think Tripper like Trev said sees this as a project ang the fact he could be apart of something special with the club and fans because the fans are up there with the best. Yes money will be a part but also the project. If they manage to stay up it would be like winning the league for me given the state of the club.

I mean if you use your logic then no he's not going to win the League or Champions League, but are you seriously telling me he's not wanting to win trophies? The FA Cup and League Cups are both achievable next season... FA Cup will then allow them to enter Europe.

I can honestly say they both can be right. Money is an incentive to go to Newcastle and he can also believe in the project with hopes of being the face of turning that club around. 🤷🏽♂️

Its well known he wanted to be back in england, we have been a route back for him, wouldnt be having this debate if he went to united on a juiced deal, this bargain probs deal of the window. Now a CB, LB, Transitional CM and a ST and we be good. Banging on about relegation when we only few points adrift a half a season to play. Is there anything you’ve seen from Newcastle’s performances that makes you think they will stay up this year? They have been awful and Trippier isn’t the answer

Of course it’s about the money, but my understanding is that he wants to move back to the UK, is a northern lad anyway, 31 years of age and it gives him half a look at the World Cup if he does well over the next 10 Months. Unless Man U want him I don’t really see a massively viable option other than this one anyway. Good luck to him.

Its defo for the money but i believe its a no brainer for trippier, bag of cash before hes past it plus closer to his family, isnt that what he wants, but the main point here is its a good signing for newcastle, 3 or 4 more signings and they will stay up

Fun fact: The name Bury, which is where Trippier is from, comes from an old English word, meaning castle. So he's from Castle and now he's moving to the Newcastle, quite fitting
