Doing a very good job on this restoration, and also the videos do show us a lot of the details. After shotblasting and primer the parts looked like a giant Airfix kit!

I'm sad. No new video for 7 months. Hope that all of you are still healthy and we will see more of the restoration process in the future.

Loving the videos on this restoration! I'm surprised that the valves aren't balanced (Such as a Richardson arrangement). Is this perhaps because the valves are so small, or is it because of the lower working pressure of the locomotive? Thanks for showing the equalizing of the driving wheels. I love getting into the technical details of the running and design of steam locomotives!

Would be better if these was in HD though. Looks like it was filmed in the 90s. Still ok to watch though.

Sam E Bundaberg’s were essentially copies of Fowlers, with only minor tweaks to the Fowler drawings.

@@TheSteamWorkshop yes, Bundaberg was sort of an official partner and supplier of Fowler in Aus and were building copies under licence

I do like the videos but I feel I need to make a constructive comment. You need to pay more attention to health and safety in your workshop. Handling / pressing heavy parts without safety shoes or boots is plain daft. One shot shows he pressed part nearly hitting someone's foot. Grinding in shorts with sparks and metal directed to bare legs ditto. If you have never had a cutting disk shatter yo are lucky, trousers / overalls might not entirely prevent injury but will significantly lessen it. I do speak from a background of steam restoration as I am a Director of a standard gauge owning group undertaking a Heavy General Overhaul on a locomotive and the owner of an engineering business working on heritage projects. I saw too many preventable accidents happen at the start of my career including two that had life changing outcomes.
