I've found it to be a good use for sprung snare cables to repurpose them. Works with a conibear traps!

I've been doing that for a while on my 330s and 220s, with most recently some of my 110 conibears also but with 1 more anchoring option. I have installed on the anchoring loop, a 5 inch long stainless steel long lining Quick Clip that I make myself from a jig I created. I use stainless steel tig filler rods for the clips. I get 2 clips from one 36 in weld wire. These are going on all my conibear traps. The nice thing about having them on there is when I wrap the cable around the trap with the Springs folded in I use the clip and attach it to the cable or trap jaws so there's no wire unsprung and getting all over the place. This makes trap storage and handling very organized. I also use these for my duck decoy long line rigs for the divers I hunt in the fall. They also work great for having attached to crawfish traps and doing long lining for crawdads in the summer or catfish, and many other uses that you can think of for anchoring. It was one of the anchoring systems that I had on my 330 conibear that caught that 40 lb beaver with the small tail I caught up in a small pond while deer hunting in Michigan. I think you may remember that conversation, you said it's just like getting back on riding a bicycle you never forget how to trap those beaver. Now on another note I am working on making this anchoring Quick Clip jig so the only tools you'll need with this jig is a bench vise and a pair of pliers and you can make as many Quick Clips as you want!

what I do is very similar but I don't make the loops adjustable. I make the second loop just big enough to slide onto my rebar anchors. If I need to anchor onto anything else I carry small locking carabiners that i can use to link the loop around the anchor and back to the cable. also I don't permanently attach the first loop I make a loop then run the cable around the spring and through the loop. that way is easy to remove without having to cut cable.

I like your videos I heard you say your traps were stolen I freaking hate a thief.

Well that would be a lot easier to lug around than the chain I use.
