I checked out the cost of a new carb from your links and yes it must have been a labor of love to clean and rebuild yours. Also the fuel line removal pliers have been added to my shopping list. Thanks for the great vid.

You weren't optimistic about that carb but I had a hunch that it would work good after you cleaned it so good. I just had a similar "caramel syrup" coated chainsaw carb that was a result of sitting for 20 years. Never thought it would work after cleaning ... but it did. Always more satisfying to rescue stuff.

I knew you would get it. Those Tecumseh carbs are workable. Does that mean you have a spare carb? Cool. Merry Christmas from us here in Western Canada to you and yours . The weather man says you are in for some snow. Good luck. Those Tecumseh carbs are forgiving. Bruce and Family PM on the way

i like the little Tecumseh 5hp good motor I don't see to many problems besides normal carb issues

Talk about timing...ive got an MTD with the same engine in 8 HP that "lops" or whatever its called and now...thanks to you...I have the guts to pull and clean the carb. Its also hysterical that you ran the snowblower through the grass. I do the same thing to make a pth for my dog.

Great job! It's rare for a Tecumseh carb to come back to life in that bad shape. I find if I think a carb is too far gone then it'll clean up & work well. Then it's the ones that look great, clean them & they still don't run properly or at all.

I didn't have a lot of hope for that carbuerator either, but the guys over at 805Roadking's channel love 'em (if memory serves) and after seeing this one come back, I understand better why they do. Did you use PurplePower full strength? Thanks Doublewide for this one and all the other great videos you've put up!
