Real hero of this movie is our beloved genius Raaja.... Not abiut the songs, the top class BGM... He was tested with teo things 1. Maha ganapathim song without percussion (as gurumurthy was drunk and thrown out from the concert) 2. Kalaivaniye song only with the arohanam (ascending) notes... And namma thalaivar just nailed it... quoting from thanni thotti song itself "enakku (raja ku) ragam ellam thanni patta paadu"

Few Subtle examples why Sri. K Balachander remained, remains & will remain a Director Par excellence. 1. Around 2:48 , when Sivakumar Says “Sangeetham na unakku” & the next frame at 2:50 continues with Sulakshana asking “Kilo enna velai”. Absolutely subtle good old sarcasm. 2. Arabhi Ragam bet scene. Around 39:25, Krishnan being a driver, hesitating to sing before a professional musician shows the driver is careful in not showing himself too smart, and proceeds to sings only after Sivakumar asks him to. And Sivakumar’s look around 39:44, bordering on surprise, happiness, appreciation on seeing a common man singing a Raga to perfection is director’s touch. 3. Poo maalai song. Two contrasting frames around 1:52:30 & and at 1:52:31 showing that the house is slowly losing its green bloom, indicative of the Hero’s alcoholic ways. And the name of the wine shop at 1:52:31 ironically says B.G. Wines, can be perceived as Balaganapathy Wines, referring to the protagonist’s name. You can go on and on singing KB’s brilliance. Just doesn’t end.

Crt absolutely crt.I will say even some scenes also can be understand only if we are educated with our culture and nature and even romantic scenes and vulgarity will be lead hided in k.b movies. Eg:if there is fight between two persons train will hide this eg:அவள் ஒரு thodarkadai last scene If some person is speaking bad incident like lust train sound will be there eg.நூற்றுக்கு நூறு movie If some person is died crows will revolve Or banian tree will be down

Hi Saravanan, When you watch the films Sindhu Bairavi, Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal and Mudhal Mariyadhai, the baseline of the stories will be same, the screenplay will be different. In all the movies, the illegal relationships are justified

"சார் ஹீரோ ஒரு பொண்ணு கூட தொடர்பு வச்சுட்டு இருக்கான்.. அது அவனோட பொண்டாட்டிக்கு தெரிஞ்சிடுது.. இப்போ ஹீரோ, தான் பாடக்கூடிய பாட்டு கச்சேரியில ஹீரோயின் வருகைக்காக காத்துகிட்டு இருக்கான்... ஹீரோயின் வரல... வருவா வருவா'ன்னு காத்துட்டு இருக்காரு ஹீரோ... ஆனா ஹீரோயின் வரல... அந்த பக்கம் ஹீரோவோட பொண்டாட்டி, தற்கொலைக்கு முயற்சி பண்றாங்க.. இந்த சீக்வன்ஸ் ஒரு நிமிஷம் வரும்... இந்த ஒரு நிமிஷத்துக்கு அந்த ஹீரோ, மேடையில என்ன பாட போறான்? அந்த ஒரு நிமிஷ சீக்வென்ஸ்'க்கு எனக்கு நீங்க பேக்ரவுண்ட் மியூசிக் போடணும்' அப்படின்னு சொல்றாருன்னா, அந்த இசையமைப்பாளர் என்ன பண்ணுவார்?? நான் கமெண்ட்ல கொடுக்குற மூவியை க்ளிக் பண்ணி, 1:39:27 ல இருந்து 1:41:05 வரைக்கும் இருக்குற ஒரு நிமிஷக் காட்சியைப் பாருங்க.. இளையராஜா அப்படிங்கற ஒரு இசை ராட்சசன் பண்ணி வச்சிருக்க வேலைய பார்த்து பிரமிச்சு போவீங்க.... இன்னொரு பொண்ணோட, தான் தொடர்பு வச்சிருக்க உண்மை, மனைவிக்கு தெரிஞ்சிருச்சு'ங்கிற கவலை ஒரு பக்கம்... இசைக்கச்சேரியில இவ்வளவு மக்கள், தன்பாட்டுக்காக காத்துட்டு இருக்காங்க அப்படிங்கிற சிந்தனை ஒரு பக்கம், ஏன் இன்னும் தன்னோட காதலி வரல அப்படிங்கற கவலை ஒரு பக்கம், அந்த காதலிய வரவிடாம செஞ்ச டெல்லி கணேஷ், "எப்படி வருவா? அதான் நான் சொல்லிட்டு வந்துட்டேன் இல்ல" அப்படின்னு நக்கலா பாக்குற பார்வை ஒரு பக்கம், இது எதுவுமே தெரியாத அங்க இருக்க அவ்வளவு இசைக்கலைஞர்களும் தபேலா, கடம், வீணை, தம்பூரா அப்படின்னு அத்தனை இசை கலைஞர்களும் உச்சபட்ச வேகத்தில இசைக்கருவிய வாசிச்சிட்டு இருக்காங்க... வருவாளா? மாட்டாளா? அப்படிங்கற பரிதவிப்பில ஹீரோ'க்கு டென்ஷன் ஏறிக்கிட்டு இருக்கு.... சரி பாடலாம் அப்படிங்கற மொமண்ட்ல, உச்சபட்ச மியூஸிக் டெம்போ'ல ஹீரோ பாடப் போகும்பொழுது, வீட்டுல இருக்கிற வேலைக்காரன் ஓடி வந்து, "உங்க மனைவி தற்கொலைக்கு முயற்சி செஞ்சிட்டாங்க" அப்படின்னு சொல்றான்..? அதிர்ச்சியோட உச்சத்துக்கு போற அந்த ஹீரோ, என்ன சொல்றதுன்னு தயங்கி தடுமாறி, பாட்டை நிப்பாட்டலாமா வேணாமான்னுஒரு செகண்ட் யோசிச்சி...இல்ல இவ்ளோ மக்களை ஏமாத்தக்கூடாதுன்னு முடிவு எடுத்து, பாடியே ஆகணும்'ங்கிற வைராக்கியத்துல, பெருங்குரல் எடுத்து "ஆனந்த நடனமாடினாள்"ன்னு பாட ஆரம்பிக்கிறாரு... அந்த ஒரு நிமிஷத்தை மட்டும் பாருங்க. என்ன ஒரு ஆர்ப்பாட்டமான, பிரமிக்க வைக்கிற ஒரு ஆர்கெஸ்ட்ரா கம்போசிஷன் அங்கே நிகழ்ந்திருக்குன்னு புரியும்.. தீம் தீம் தகிட தகிட தஜம் தஜம்'ன்னு யேசுதாஸோட ஹைரேஞ்ச் வாய்ஸ் உங்களை மெய்மறக்க வைக்கும்.. இளையராஜா அப்படிங்கற மாபெரும் ஜாம்பவானோட இசை கோர்வை வேலைப்பாடும், கலை நுணுக்கமும் உங்களை மெய்மறக்க செய்யும்... இப்படி எல்லாம் பாடல்களும், சிச்சுவேஷனும் இனிமே வர வாய்ப்பு இருக்கா?? எப்படி எல்லாம் இழைச்சி இழைச்சி வெறும் ஒரு நிமிஷ காட்சிக்காக உழைச்சிருக்காங்க.. ப்பாஆ.. absolutely brilliant story telling : outstanding amalgamation of music, human emotions, relationships (all sorts.. husb-wife, orphan child-mother, boss-subordinate, extra-marital, friendship) yearning for child, society, class systems, nature, oceans... all sorts of things.. happening... human weaknesses (alcohol, need for recognition etc etc).. JUST SUPERB... all is fine if you accept and ignore the basic FALLACY : HOW COME a well ESTABLISHED REPUTABLE MUSICIAN chose to marry an UTTER "LIFELESS-JADAM" a person with no talent/ knowledge in MUSIC? his educated friends like the attorney and others... didn't advise him against marrying such a person of total OPPOSITE nature as him?

20.25 that bhajan is in raag gurjari todi, not sure if he is referring the bhajan as hameer kalyan. I am no expert just a music lover, but guess it was supposed to be hameer Kalyan or just hameer, a hindustani raag... Hameer kalyani is a carnatic raaga and not hindustani ...
