I work in the military contracting field to build missiles, anti-targeting systems, satellites, etc. You often aren't allowed to know what you're making or for who or why and wont find out until years later when the tech becomes declassified. I don't think i've had a better day at work then when I found out I helped make a the most Anime missile ever conceived

@@fuzzybloodpc9291 for the US at least. the "defense program" refers to pretty much anything military based, armor on tanks count but so do missiles that target threats such as attack planes or facilities that make weapons. "Anti-targeting" refers to a section of that defense program, specifically immediate threats, so a common one would be flares/decoys that shoot off the back of fighter jets to blow up or distract targeted missile attacks, this also includes things like signal jammers

Democracy isn't that great anyway. My own people managed to establish a democracy just to elect another dictator who was worse than the last. Democracy only works when people are educated to the highest level and cannot be tricked and manipulated by politicians, and most people in most countries just aren't like that, making democracy not that great of a thing. Communism is ass too btw.

Something you've missed this month is that China's economy is falling apart at it's middle and lower levels because of real estate scams on a massive level, people were paying for future properties that weren't built yet and the real estate companies were using that money to buy more land to sell to investors instead of putting the money into building said properties, needless to say it fell apart massively and now the banks in China are going under as citizens are refusing to make mortgage payments and are protesting in the streets, the reason it's so bad is because owning property in China has social and cultural importance to it's people and many saw it as a safe way to invest and gain more social status, thus most of their finances and savings were tied up in these unbuilt properties, it's kinda like the 2008 housing market crash in the US on steroids.

The Griner case is a great example why doing any international business in countries that are politically opposed to your own, especially ones with a bad human righs record such as China, Russia and Saudi-Arabia, should always be very carefully considered. No money is worth losing years of your life.

The town where this occurred is massively religious and right wing; but they also used the Library to vote and also its Wi Fi for people that don't have internet access. The people voting to defund the library didn't realize that by defunding it, it would have to close. So the town is back to voting on funding the library.

Defunding for LGBT books is dumb. I agree, LGBT books being sold for fucking kindergarteners is moronic. Kindergarteners are not miniature adults. This is basic psychology. They wont comprehend what their reading. Teaching Kindergarteners sex ed, is equally more moronic. These kids have zero clue what their learning about. There is a reason why sex-ed is taught only to 4th graders. Most books in libraries make sure they make this distinction, and make sure that kindergarteners dont accidently pick up some random ass book about sex. The Library should have been more responsible, and should of put the LGBT books away from the kids section.

Its goal isn't to kill as many people as possible and leave irreparable damage to anything in its wake, its goal is to kill a single targeted individual with as little damage and casualties as possible. I doubt monkey pox will end up being particularly significant in comparison with covid 19. Due to the residual quarantine restrictions and general anti covid practices, as well as monkey pox simply being far slower to transmit and already having a vaccine avaliable, it will likely peeter out and ve no more impactful than SARS was in the 2010s.

The funds for emissions reduction will likely be spent like the FAA certifying unleaded fuel, meaning it will go nowhere for a long time. There's been a suitable unleaded aviation fuel since about 2013 and they scrapped 2 certification programs to drag on the process. They're requiring a different one now. Then again, the reason they're dragging it on so long is since they'd have to certify every aircraft that uses leaded fuel to use unleaded fuel and there's lots of them to do; it would also jack up the price by about 50 to 80¢ which isn't ideal right now. That doesn't stop me from believing the funds will be squandered by big oil; there's no money in reducing emissions or going green.

Deal with lobbying and insider trading, then investigate Hunter Biden and Trump since we cant have politiciansor people related to politiciansthat are commiting crime. Then scrap the 2 China policy. Doing these would truly put us on track.

@@phantompizza It takes effort to turn things around when times are tough; and they are tough as hell right now. If we all act like there's no point in trying, then no one will try, and nothing will change. In the news this month, I see the FBI doing its job to protect the country and the world from someone who thought he was above the law just because he used to be president. I see a shameless slanderer being meted out justice by one of the few strong and effective systems America still has going for it, the one not locked down by partisan bickering: the judicial system. I see a weapons system that's a reflection of the American military's commitment to precision, where a more corrupt country would happily murder the families of their enemies along with them. There are tons of problems, of course. There's corruption, complacency, incompetence. But America doesn't fit into the oval office. Government likes to play up its own importance. The reality is, even within the government, there are still effective branches and effective leadership. The president isn't some necromancer that puppets every government agent around with magic strings. He's the dude they put in front of cameras to make speeches. It's a big complex system with lots of moving parts. It's good to hear about the ones still working, instead of the usual complaining about the ones everyone hates.
