Never realized how much I miss these guys until I see one of these videos. I used to watch them at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night on our Boston ABC affiliate. They used to randomly change times so I'd have to pull a physical copy of TV Guide out and see where they went. It would sometimes be 2 or 3 on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'd set my alarm. RIP to the legends.

In Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert's defense, with the title "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead," the film's message, and even how the film portrays the adult world of men and women, the film had definitely just rubbed them off the wrong way. This was because they felt that with the film's title, message, and take on the adult world of men and women, the movie came off that it was going to negatively impact society with how the film portrays kids, adults, adult life, and babysitters as it could've gave them a bad reputation in the future thanks to this movie. Also, both Siskel and Ebert have very sophisticated and tough ways to review their movies in their own ways. For Siskel to enjoy the movie, he has to like EVERYTHING he has watched in the movie as Siskel's film criticism was an individual exercise that shouldn't be swayed by public taste. And as for Ebert, he and his film criticisms are both just trying to tell us what he thinks, and to provoke some thought on our part about how movies work and what they can do for everyone and everything in our society someday. Ebert is also quite honest in his film reviews like his hero, Robert Warshow, as like Warshow, Ebert wants to judge a movie on its style rather than its content, and often said "It's not what a movie is about, it's how it's about what it's about." Siskel and Ebert might have both been brutal and that we always don't have to agree with their reviews on specific movies, but they both were brutally honest and straightforward with their movie reviews as their film reviews were largely responsible for getting casual movie viewers to take film more seriously. Even to the point that they and their film criticisms have inspired an entire generation of moviegoers to weigh in on their experiences.

Seen on television, movies, music, media and even clothing, all thanks to Oscar winning producer Robert Dorfmann of the Forbidden Games and Papillon fame who came to New York and have some good thoughts for today's fans alike. Fun Trivia: A lot of these movies from major studios weren't doing very well at the box-office and they are: Steppin' Out, Shout, Hudson Hawk, Nothing but Trouble, Dice Rules, Scenes from a Mall, Return to the Blue Lagoon, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Drop Dead Fred, Highlander 2, Another You and more. All of which having tons of production problems on many movie sets were being made. In fact, several actors/filmmakers, crew members and studio executives who could lose their jobs and everyone will be on the blacklist. Some of them will find decent work in television, theater and music but others won't. Now lots of them who got great success today and live life to the fullest such as Andie MacDowell, Brian Krause, Milla Jovovich, Jane Krakowski, Virginia Madsen, Christina Applegate, Demi Moore, Phoebe Cates, Christopher Lambert, Bette Midler and more. Fair and Simple.

I'll give you some advice from my friend who produced many good and bad movies. His name is Peter MacGregor-Scott, great producer/executive who've started working in the US and associated with Universal, Warners, Paramount and finally Disney. From 1977 until 2010, he wore many hats as a co-producer, supervising producer, executive producer and producer on many projects. And he collaborated with several filmmakers, artists and technicians around the world plus working with great actors. He also helps out and brings the best out of everybody's work, no matter what. Finding the right locations to shoot, built the sets and more, the veteran producer is very responsible for everything. Especially for a few wee hours to have such a great vision where many problems lie. There were many challenges in any production. What he says for many of today's filmmakers such as Andrew Davis, Joel Schumacher, Kathryn Bigelow, Ron Shelton, Jeff Kanew, Arthur Hiller et al from December 1981 and said in his words about film producing: "As long as you have many solutions, the problems may never exist." Now he's gone but I love him so much and his family will always remember him. As well as his fans and friends who have cared and adored him too. I'm gonna miss you, pal. God Bless. RIP, Peter.

Yep, 'Scenes from a Mall' is bad. Woody is a lot like Clint Eastwood. When he appears in a film he did not write or direct, there is usually a bad result. 'Dice Rules' only played ONCE on HBO after its run in the theatre and it was shown like at 3 or 4 in the morning since it was NC-17. The sad thing about Rik Mayall is that he had an illustrious career in England but in America he is mostly known Drop Dead Fred and the Young Ones. Even when it was announced he died, NBC called him the 'Drop Dead Fred' actor. I even ID'ed him as that to my sister since that is what she knew him for. The directors cut of the first Highlander is great, but they they retconned it film after film and TV show...Oh, he is a prisoner from another planet...Oh, he really isn't that last immortal...Oh, there are plenty of immortals roaming the earth, including a kinsman of Connor's. I loved Don’t Tell Mom Babysitter's Dead & Drop Dead Fred & Hudson Hawk too lol, I'm guessing because I was so young. Watching them now it's obvious they're not all great films, but they're all still lovable in their own way thanks in no small part to nostalgia.
