Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert are greatly disappointed by Gus Van Sant's "Even Cowgirls get the Blues" To think this was the same guy that made "Milk" Nothing belongs to me

cooled out weirdness can't be made into a movie, Even the book had kept swallowing it's own tail. And the 70's as a decade remains an unsupervised and undisciplined child running naked around a theme park.

I recall co-workers seeing this telling me it was horrible. But U gotta say, Uma is a good actress.

I just watched Even Cowgirls yesterday. Such a bizarre premise.

This movie had real moments of beauty, but it was so bad that we actually went back and saw it again because we couldn't believe it could be that bad. We thought we'd missed something, but we hadn't. It is dumbfounding and incoherent, and some of the scenes are so terribly acted that I think must have put in outtakes when they re-edited in order to try to patch things together.

The only thing I liked about this movie was one of many songs K.D. Lang did for the soundtrack called "Just Keep Me Moving".

Maybe they should've cut it up to make ukelle picks after the first disasterous screening in Sept.

Movie reeked because it was a hell of a book... but the novels of Tom Robbins are incredible to read, but to actually see this in the flesh... they're really something to HEAR about, not see. Rain Phoenix's brother River has a microscopic cameo... he died shortly after and it was dedicated to him... in his honor, it even said "For River" at the end of the opening credits. That one simple tear was the only moment this entire thing had from beginning to end. --Likewise Disappointed, Dane Youssef

Sad when a terrible film is dedicated to a great talent. Did River even take a credit? He died shortly after the film was originally going to be released, by the way.

Ebert seen it 2x, must have been a torture on the 1st viewing.. When asked to please watch reedited version I would offer to jump out of a window

Sometimes re-editing can fix a movie. See what Ebert thought of his two viewings of The Brown Bunny.

Interesting that she had big thumbs. But this film doesn't look good. I'm sure Van Sant, who has done better before and after, doesn't keep it on his resume.

This is not A romantic comedy I would say it is more of a satire.

That movie is terrible. I only managed to sit through it for thirty minutes, and I was physically hurting watching this movie.
