Great Video! Your hair is beautiful! Do you experience any tension/ uncomfortable feeling on your scalp after a retightening? I’m currently a loose natural and I’ve been researching Sisterlocks and that is one of my concerns/fears since I’m tender headed.

Hi beautiful! Thanks so much 🤗 thankfully, I don’t feel tension. Sometimes, when I do the crown style, it can feel a little tight because all the hair is being pulled into the crown, so I would recommend doing a loose style post-retightenings to prevent that. I hope you’re able to get them!!

I just remembered someone else commented on my 10-month update saying she held off from getting sisterlocks because of being tenderheaded, but she’s 20 months in now and loving it 🤎 there is hope lol

Your locs are beautiful…I love that your loctician provides a one-stop-shop…my loctician comes to me so the wash is out of reach and I never get a style but now I will consider it…thanks for the inspiration and documenting your loc journey!

Hi beautiful! Thank you so much 🤎 and I’m glad the videos are helpful!! I really love the one stop shop feature too. I’ve never been great with hair so getting it all done through her feels like such a relief. From my research, it seems like it’s more common to not have that as a full service!

Honestly, as nice as sisterlocks looks, it feels like it defeats the purpose of being natural cost wise for me. From what I gather, it costs nearly 1k to install (with tailbone length hair like mine). And then I gotta pay $175 every other month just for retightening??? I just can't justify that for hair. It's gorgeous but nah I think I'll pass lol. I'll just continue watching beautiful women like you rock it from afar lol.

Hi beautiful! I definitely understand this lol and tailbone length will most likely cost much more than 1k 👀 I have a video where I break down the cost comparison to natural hair, and really where you get the cost benefit is if you do the retightenings yourself (because then your hair maintenance costs nothing at all). While I don’t exactly plan to do that if I don’t have to (lol), I was getting my hair done monthly anyway so it ends up costing me about the same or less 🤗 here’s the video if you want to watch kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eJ6dec6Zx6m1eYU.htmlsi=ZCK6NmmxXPbTRs90

@@kahinamatata 💙 I've already decided that I'm going to do locs in my 40s. And I really love the versatility of sisterlocks, it's the cost that holds me back. But I also love the look of traditional locs so that might be the route I go. Hmm, maybe learning to retighten myself could be a good middle ground. Thanks hun

@@kahinamatata also, seeing the cost breakdown, I'll definitely cut my hair down before any installation 😂 I'm not bothered about length so if that saves money, so be it.

You’re welcome! I was looking at someone today who had very small palm rolled traditional locs, so that could also be an option to consider if you want the smaller look without the cost. And I hear you on cutting the hair first 🤣 it’ll grow back so fast anyway

What do you think? Does this maintenance make sisterlocks less appealing?

Your hair is beautiful! Why don’t you braid and band?

Thank you! 🤎 My loctician hasn’t required it. I think it might be a timing thing but I’ve felt comfortable following her lead.
