I have had really good times on shrooms, but the last couple of times I've done them I just go back & forth between laying down and wanting to get up and do stuff, and getting up and doing stuff and feeling like I just want to lay down.

It's different for everyone; every high is. Also, the strength of the 'shrooms-or whatever you're using. Having done them, I can attest that while I did feel some things, it was not what it was hyped to be, though I think they were not of great quality.

But of course you don't constantly hear stories of people running into traffic on 'shrooms. Sorry that you're still running off of DARE-era propaganda, if you even are (I know this was seven years ago, but still, misinformation is misinformation), but psychedelic drugs are some of the safest drugs in terms of morality rate (Most of the traditional psychedelics like LSD and Psilocybin (shrooms) have LD-50's that are up to 120x the average dose), violence, and overall impact on society. Yes, you can fuck up and make a life ending mistake on psychedelics, but this isn't a common occurrence, especially not when compared to drugs such as alcohol, which is legalized and to a pretty good extent glorified in many societies.
