30:43 Paper is still used in construction documents. They are required for contracts. There are standard architectural scales for certain views. Floor plans and exterior elevations are at 1/4". 1/2" is used when you start doing things that require a close look like cabinet drawings and that sort of thing. Architectural standards have not changed that much.

It is a BIG surprise that Eric doesn't know about a much better solution for the pattern hatching he drew manually. The best way to do this BY FAR, is to tag the top surface of that garage floor with a colour by tag concrete hatch pattern image. In Sketchup, you'd tag the top surface of that floor with a tag called for example Hatch_Concrete, turn on colour by tag for the scene, then in layout you would be able to see the hatch perfectly on the whole floor. If you want to tag the top of the walls, etc, anything with another hatch, simply create a tag, give it an appropriate hatching image attached to the tag in sketchup and turn on colour by tag in the sketchup scene to show it or in layout if you'd like...

Genius . Where can I get more tags ?

Can you start by showing how to modify the Layout tools - display more icons/functions on the top of page tool bar

Re: assigning colour to a tag - on Mac you seem to have the ability to pick a precise colour but on Windows I have a colour wheel or sliders. Am I missing something, can I select a precise colour on Windows?
@SketchUp9 ай бұрын
You're not missing anything. The colors panel on mac is driven by the operating system and is a bit different than Windows.

@@SketchUp makes it difficult to pick the same colour twice, maybe a feature request for some standard colours like Mac or AutoCAD? Thanks for the reply.

Thanks a lot. But does the image in LayOut look low-quality (pixelated)? Especially slanting and curved lines and objects' edges. Despite the fact that in SketchUp everything looks clear. How can the picture quality be adjusted in LayOut?
@SketchUp3 ай бұрын
There is a 'preview or display' setting in LayOut that can be adjusted. The pixelated is just the way it looks in LO for performance. The final export looks much better. Have you tried LayOut and exporting with different resolution settings?

@@SketchUp thanks. I discovered that I need to set the image to vector rendering, and then it will be clear

Well Eric , by the way am confused from day one i watched your this lesson as newly skp annual subscriber from the campus lesson, because you skip the most important part of the modelling process as you said exactly, and i can't understand how you did that by taking 2D views from skp of a 3D model into layout through scenes.How did you make all those scenes in 2D form in Skp instead you make them in 2D form in the layout?
