The ideal Bushcraft knife designed by Mors Kochanski. After waiting 1000 days for my order to be filled, the Skookum Bushtool was worth the wait. Nearly perfect, if you have a chance to buy one jump on it. To see more of this tool follow the link to see me carve a Siberian Deadfall trap using on the Skookum Bushtool.

I finally gave in and emailed Rod to put me on the waiting list... The Skookum is actually one of my grail knives I've been wanting forever. I tried to find it second hand to no avail... So I might as well wait. Thanks for the video

The Skookum was Mors idea for "Survival" knife design ( Prybar that works wood well). That's why you see the solid hammer on the end of the hadle. It's there to hammer tenpegs on the ground, to crush open nuts, even to break a window etc I wish all my outdoors knives had that, because it also provides handle longevity. All handles come apart or chip, from the back and their front part. That metal pomel, adds a lot to the knife. That's one of the many reasons, why TRC Mille Cuori, is my favorite knife and in my opinion, the best belt knife out there. Skookum is one of the best too, but it's mainly a survive in the woods knife, rather than a do it all knife, that other designs are. You're really lucky you own one, I'll probably never own it, because now takes more than 6 years to get 1 in your hands....Keep it and sharp and Enjoy!!!

You should take some time off youtube. I see your comments on hundreds of videos, very long rambling replies. Perhaps make some good content of your own instead. Get back outside, update your skills, and just give your brain an internet break.

@@Butch_Deezlsteak You hate me and quality knives. Don't tell me that I didn't get it now, when you just prove my point in first place.. I guess you just hate me, because I own that knife, and you don't. Don't bother lying that you also own that knife, nobody who really knows, will ever believe you. PS Who cares for your opinion? You missed that too, didn't you? lol

@greekveteran2715. I love my Mille Cuori, I think its a really sexy blade. Unfortunately it has one major fault that prevents me carrying it as my belt knife. It won't strike sparks from a ferrorod - An absolute requirement for me in a bushcraft/ survival knife, fortunately I have other similar knives that will.

@@howardvarley8795 I believe, that TRC, as other serious companies, haven't affected much, after KZfaq marketing, where everything has to be as a so called experte said etc etc. That's with all the respect, bullshit. Companies that care about quality and not quantity or making only money, haven't fall into that marketing trap. Just my humble opinion, that I believe is also facts and not just my personal opinion.PS Mille Cuori, isn't a bushcraft knife, neither a "Survival" RAMBO knife, it's zero % marketing and 100 business.

You can belt carry with that sheath. You loop the neck cord over and over to shorten it then through its own loop to attach to belt. It will be like a short dangler. In winter I often do a shoulder carry, if you're hiking all day the necker tucked between layers is a nice way to keep it put and you know where it is. You can always get kydex made for it or another leather.

I finally got one second hand. It's the best bushcraft knife I own and now my favorite..the only problem I have is the tip on mine keep slowly chipping away. Maybe I got one of the earlier batches were people complained about the tip. Maybe I should put a micro tanto tip on it like Mors did on his when his chipped. Mine is also in O1 tool steel with the brown micarta.

No knife is worth waiting that long for. I blacksmith my own knives but if I didn't I would simply take this design to a knifemaker (easily found by googling) and commissioning from a custom maker. Really, no magic to a knife, just features and there are more than enough folks out there that can make exactly what you want for reasonable money.

I have a longer lanyard and wear mine over the shoulder, with the sheath down just above waist level. It's very accessible there and gives discrete concealment under a jacket. It works better for me there than neck carry. I found by accident that the Casstrom axe loop is a perfect fit for the sheath and can be used as a 'frog' for carrying the SBT. I would probably lace a loop of paracord through one of the sheath eyelets and the belt loop of the Casstrom item for extra security.

@@BurningRiverBushcraft Funny thing is, when I ordered it back then he told me that it would take at least 45 months. I emailed him back and told him to cancel my order. Well, apparently he never saw my last email requesting cancellation and still made the knife. I just assumed my order was cancelled and went on with my life never giving it another thought. Was blown away when I got the email that it was done and ready to ship. Almost passed it onto the next person in line, but I have to see what all the hype is about

There is really nothing special about this knife... Like you said, its just a good carving knife like so many others on the market. Too many people look for a do-all knife when they should really take multiples and use the right tool for the job!
