Hellenistic has yes, had an impact on languages such as English, however the only other language that would also have been impacted is Italian (due to small Griko settlements. He most likely didn't create it either. He lived in Ohrid, the first examples of "Cyrillic" are from Pliska.

A lot of school were built to learn and spread the alphabet, a lot of church books were written at that time.
