Sleep Ranch

Күн бұрын

-Welcome to the Sleep Ranch! We are located in the Northern Black Hills on the South Dakota/ Wyoming border where our ancestors settled and started ranching in 1883.
I (Carson) work alongside my parents, Jeff and Jodi, our ranch hand, Jaques, my wife, Damaris who also works as a nurse in town, and our son Silas! We have friends and family who come along very frequently as well!
We run a cow/calf operation where we summer our cattle on the Black Hills National Forest and winter them in the foothills of the Black Hills. We also have a backgrounding feedlot, and grow alfalfa and grass hay.
To God be the Glory

I look at a few cattle ranches in S Dakota. You are by far the most caring. Then when your Sweet Family joins you in a video, that Godly caring shows. Thank you for being a great example of what a young Christian father/husband should be. I have grandchildren your age.

Great drone views! The calves are so stinking cute. I think 2023 will be a very spiritual awakening year for more people---PRAISE GOD! Silas does not like seeing the cow suffering, not to mention the stinky side of birth! (okay, he probably was more hungry.)

That would be so interesting if you knew how many calves were pulled by that puller. I had to laugh 😅 at that calf who suddenly jumped up and skidaddled when he realized a human was touching him. What a fine bunch of new calves (Your little 😍"bull calf" is mighty fine too). Demarias has the gentlest sweetness about her. I bet she is a joy to be with. That treatment 👌to prevent pneumonia is great. You really touched my heart with your kindness to the maiden heifer that had trouble with her very big calf. Glad she got through the ordeal and the babe was healthy. I watch the Dr Pol TV program and never get tired of seeing him deliver a live calf even when the odds of it's survival are slim. Congratulations on a promising calving season! God bless your sweet family 👪.

@@rossjermey7688 ??? I think not. I have enjoyed watching this Ranch. These people are not like that! They talk about calving numbers often. How many calves they bring into the world doesn't tell us anything except we have a few more babies to watch being born.

Greetings from Wisconsin, Carson. I am wondering (unless I am unaware of it) why, in this age of compact battery-powered drills and equipment why someone hasn't invented battery powered calf pullers? Truckers now use drill-operated load binders so the mechanisms are available and using one intelligently would allow farmers & ranchers the ability to go as slow or fast as required. I see a device that is friction-fitted to the pulling pole that could be slid up or back something like a wood clamp mechanism so the would be nothing sticking out at 90° to the device. Did I miss the news that they are already out?? BTW, the vet I rode with used the mate to your puller, purchased from the crusty old vet who retired in 1964 when the new guy took over his practice!!
