In this video, "Slow Tempos vs Medium Tempos vs Up Tempos for Drummers" I discuss and demonstrate a different ways to work on slow tempos, medium tempos and up tempos in jazz on the drums. Each tempo has a different feeling and requires different approaches and discuss and demonstrate a few different approaches that I think of when I play these different tempos. This lesson, "Slow Tempos vs Medium Tempos vs Up Tempos for Drummers" will help drummers become more comfortable playing and give them strategies for all different tempos.

You always blow me away with some new ideas! This time is the idea of thinking in up tempo as if you're playin funk.... One can hear it so clearly with Jack DeJohnette's playing as you mentioned (for example So What with George Benson) Once again a big thank you and many greetings from Croatia! 🥁🤗 Pavle

Surprise surprise :-) It’s all related and it’s important that we relate them in our minds so we don’t think so differently when we play different styles. Cheers!

左腕を練習する時は、左腕だけに集中して練習する必要があります。課題としているテクニックに対応する練習をしましょう。時には、技術の最小の変化が大きな違いを生むこともあります。GANBATTE NE!

Very cool lesson! Do you find that your vocabulary changes as the tempos increase? I found that triplet and 16th note ideas go out the window a bit in favour of more 8th note ideas.
