I usually pound it in real nice right away too. Always had good luck with that method.

I use just the right stuff with no gasket as it is in the directions. I just used the right stuff with out gasket on my thermostat housing and no leaks. Just follow the directions on can. Don't understand why guys slap all that silicone and gasket together. PUt a nice even beed all around then set it, torque after recommended time i use the 5 min right stuff gasket maker.

Sorry if I missed you mentioning it in the video but is any RTV required where the pan gasket arch seals on the bottom of the timing chain cover?
@iowadiy6361 Жыл бұрын
It’s not required, but you will have a much larger chance of success with RTV at the corners of the gaskets

Hey I just bought a 7qt pan just like it did you have to but a different oil pump or just use a standard one..
@iowadiy63612 жыл бұрын
A standard pump will work good with that but you just need to adjust the pick up height

@@iowadiy6361 OK thanks so much bc it came with the new pick up
@iowadiy63612 жыл бұрын
Yes, that will definitely need to be measured and set

@@ant10623 alot of the bigger pan/pickup combo are matched perfect for most oil pumps. Some will be different if using a hv pump so need to check with where u got the pan to make sure what the pickup was designed for either being stock or hv flow. But usually the pickups match the pan just right for clearance, of course always check your clearance to be sure. But if upgrading from stock size pan you will always need to find a matching pickup, stock ones won't for these 7qt drag pans

@@jjmccloud OK that's 👍 for the info.

I would not have used that hugely thick gasket. Especially with damaged spots on it.
