Very helpful, thank you 😊 Most of my videos get about 300-500 views. but one of them, very shortly after I started had over 5000 views and I got 288 subscribers from that one video 😅 i was blown away! I went from someone who I thought nobody would even see for months, to being someone who now had an audience overnight. I know it's not huge figures but when you have 100 subs one day and then the next nearly 400, it's quite daunting... brilliant, but daunting. I love how you said that we are growing a library of content and should not be focusing on creating one good video that gets seen by thousands who never come back. I actually think I prefer growing slowly, it kinda gives me more time to develope into the role. Thanks for this vid, it really helped keep things real 😊❤
@irinadeee
@irinadeee 9 ай бұрын
That is major! But yes, I totally relate to the "exciting but daunting" sentiment. I felt the same way when my audience increased unexpectedly. I also agree that growing slowly allows you to develop your skills in a more comfortable way/pace than if you went viral too quickly. Thank you for watching, best of luck in your content creation moving forward!

So good, Irina. I launched a podcast a few months ago, and as I completed month 3, I reflected that no matter where this goes, I'm building a library of content I feel great about having shared. Even if a channel remains small, you never know what lives you will redirect in some small way and have a butterfly effect. It's impossible to measure your long-term impact on the world -- so you just have to find your own purpose and share that. To me, how you change and grow within is more important than any number showing on a screen somewhere.

Thanks for sharing. This video was definitely helpful. You have a lot of insight. My shorts are doing gangbusters. My longform videos are not getting many views. I started my channel in April and I have 90,000 subscribers but a lot of those subscribers are not engaging on my longform videos. I feel like I have two audiences. I’m definitely going after the smaller more engaging audience though. I guess my question is “ do you think having a lot of subscribers is ever a bad thing”?Kind of a weird question I guess. I love your content keep it coming.❤

I'm so glad to hear that the video was helpful! It seems like the discrepancy between shorts views (or views from an audience on TikTok/Instagram) and long-form video views is something that many new creators are experiencing. It can be hard to redirect that audience over to longer videos. I would say to definitely keep making both, but to place a greater emphasis on providing more entertainment and value in your longer videos. Your views look fantastic! You're headed in a great direction. I don't think having lots of subscribers is a bad thing as long as the growth is organic. Best of luck to you moving forward!

Thanks for the insight! I’m going to definitely crank out better and more diverse long form content along with the shorts. Hopefully over time it will materialize. Again very helpful you are! By the way keep doing your motivational type videos the world needs that very much including me 😝 ✌️

My videos usually get 60-100 views, so it was really exciting to get over 800 views on one! It brought me lots of new subscribers, which was great. The downside is that I felt a bit disappointed when my next video didn’t immediately get hundreds of views (it’s currently at 130, so still better than average!)!

Hello Irina, thank you for this (and other) video… I am about to start create content on YT and was just thinking about how to pick my niche, should that be only one on one channel or more and I was thinking about it for past few days and then today YT gave me one of your video (from last year)! Hope I will be able to figure out! Its the crusial thing for me now, as I am not that one thing oriented person, I love painting as much as my soapmaking…also I paint very intuitively and I love trying very different techniques and styles and I hear everywhere "be clear, create clear recognizible brand" and thats making me stay away, because I am not there (yet?) my pictures are more of series, I like this so I wanna try it then I like other style so I inspire there so you cant really recognize me yet (or maybe yes, maybe there is something that connects through my painting even through different styles but I dont see it, who knows… so thank you for your insight, glad to find your channel, Im going to see your next videos 😊

Is been a while since I been touch with your Channel, you should try to feel what is like to be Viral in your Own Community is truly a weird vibe when too many respect you. “Intimidation that doesn’t truly exist” people are people “it is what it is” “Go for it” Everyone is Unique in their own Way.

I agree, after finding some success it can again be a "dry" patch until you find new content that will resonate with your audience. Having evergreen content that will be viewed consistently is the best.

Great timing for me to find this video (via the "watch next" cards at the end of another of your videos, FYI)! I had a "VFM" moment (great term!) of my own as a tiny, incredibly new creator. My first three regular videos all had less than 100 views, and then I posted one that leapt to over 1,000, and I *did* feel compelled to continue in that same vein! When the next video "bombed"-which is to say: did what one would normally suspect for a channel's fourth (regular) video, I had to navigate through some emotions. On the other hand, it freeing! I knew that I could, and would, still make that sort of content-because it's important to me-but no longer do I feel confined to *only* doing motivation/self-help! Great channel and insight, and I appreciate the content I've seen so far!

I'm so glad you found this video! I completely agree that it can feel disappointing and liberating at the same time when a video doesn't perform how you might expect it to. Less eyes = more freedom to explore new topics and improve your video filming/editing skills without too much criticism! Wishing you the best of luck with your content moving forward!

Could you please, please do a video on how youtube is nowadays just censoring content featuring minors? Our channel is about 16-17 year olds. 80-90% of the videos now get automatically flagged for containing minors. This SHOULD turn off comments once (according to youtube) amd mainly to kids of 13 and younger. In reality comments keep getting turned off, like 10-15 times per video... and even worse: any video flagged for containing minors gets no or very little impressions. It's not shown on feeds, not even the feeds of your own subscribers! Subscribers also don't receive a notification you posted a new video. Obviously this means any video that gets this flag (which you don't see and cannot appeal to) will completely flop. It's destroying my channel and ALL channels featuring minors. Bigger channels can compensate for it, but smaller channels are just stuck now with nothing they can do. Complaining at youtube has no effect, they keep denying it... So this should really, really get more attention, because no-one listens to kids, because what do they know?? (For the record: I'm an adult myself, running a channel for my daughter and friends).
