Budget looks beautiful! Your new camera and Mic setup does a really nice job! I use a Magnum Energy inverter and in the Winter I use it in Backup Mode. You can set it up with a small battery bank and in a power out, it switches in less than 13ms which is seamless from grid to battery. Lights, TV, computers, everything switches without even a blink. It even has an auto gen start function that will then after a switch to battery, will start your gen and then auto switch to gen power once it reaches the proper voltage. When the power comes back on, the inverter waits till the power is correct and has stabilized and then switches back to grid. Instant no power interruption at any phase of the transfers. When back on the grid or in Gen mode it also charges the batteries back up. It was $2400 in 2009 and interestingly it still their flagship product. Not sure but I think it works with 3phase power too.

The DEYE will do all that as well, But because it's a true hybrid with built-in MPPT controllers, it can also feed power to the grid. Great if you want to feed the grid and only get paid 2c a kW. But if you don't want to feed power to the grid as a registered grid tie unit, then you need to use a changeover switch ATS. Pain in the butt, Easy to do, though. Just another hoop we must jump through in Australia. These switch in 2ms, so extremely fast. I just need to wire it in and test it all before I can recommend doing it this way, with this ATS brand.

Hi Chris recently purchased a couple of cheap 1 phase changeover switches . I’m intending to install one for my little electronics shed. It will run of my Solar shed and revert to mains if the battery gets too low . That’s the plan at this stage.

In the old power room. Showed it in a video not too long ago. Just using it as a battery charger, connected to the 3.2kw generator. I don't think it will be getting much use.

How many Kwh are those batteries? And how much?

Well, the single unit on the 5kW inverter side is a 200amp battery 10kW.
