I'm always conscious of the shortest day of the year coming up as well, but since I added the extra 3kWp of panels, no problem whatsoever, more than enuf to power the house and EV. I'm still blown away after 6 years being off-grid, everything is powered by daylight...magic. Have a beaut week Chris !!! 🤠😎

A lot of people just don't get how easy and affordable it is these days. Imagine Never having a power out. Never paying for Power bills / line fees / bookkeeping fees / again. What a dream that would be. ROFL, we have been living that life for many years. When they make the switch to hydrogen cars, it will just be so easy to use with solar to make our own, almost as easy as making our own power if we had an electric car. :hand-purple-blue-peace:

You and me both! It's working extremely well, Norm. Been such a smooth integration into our home. Lots of work had to be done to change things about. But now I have all the backup systems in place, like I always have. I don't think they will be needed. But if anything happens to me, then Sigi will have power no matter what.

Yes, they are a very nice inverter. Work well for me, so I have no complaints.

Nice you have also managed to live on 4 mega watts of power for a year amazing my last year in Canada was 20 mega watts not complaining just stating a fact it is harder here to live on 100% sun here in Canada but not impossible. I did make 17 mega watts so each year I get closer to my goal of being self sufficient. Cheers

Hello Bob, Long time no see. How has your life been treating you, my dear friend? You can keep the sun longer if you like. My system is not missing it at all. Would be good if we got warmer days so we could go bush camping again.

Doing OK up here. Spending time near Phoenix, Arizona for the winter. The sun actually works down there ! Working in my lab with windows where the sun comes up every day with birds and rabbits and and lizard or two running around is nice. Good place to test and engineer solar stuff. Deye sells in the US as a Texas company AIO Hybrid branded "Sol-Ark". It is doing very well here. MidNite is also now shipping inverter/chargers of our own now but also starting to ship our implemented and labeled AIO "ONE" 10kW 120V/240 VAC hybrid not unlike the Deye and other hybrids from Asia. They are getting way too good at this stuff ! Hi to Ziggy !

Yes, there is some really nice gear coming from China. Still have to be careful of the clones being made by Must and a few other brands. Do you think the midnite inverter will ever be ready for Australia? I see on the midnite website "THE ONE"

even in winter you get more sun than we do in England I would like a better set up when I move house going try get a south garden also

I am planning my upgrades. Batteries Inverter Charge Controller Solar Panels What do you do with old batteries and Solar Panels? And would you change the order for my upgrades? Jim

Old batteries if they are no good. Sell them for scrap. My solar panels are still fine. So all we did was upgrade batteries and inverter. 🙃

Are the DEYE better than VICTRON? jim

Hell yes. Victrons are dinosaurs. Old tech. And to get them online, you need to buy the extra bits. Deye is rated for 100% condensation, fully weatherproof. And if you use all the wiring inlets that come with the inverters, not even any ants can get it. I love how well they work.

Yes, Jim, that's right. You will have to find a good dealer where you live. I will be getting a DEYE Battery here to test very soon, though. A RW-M6.1-B. These should be getting sold worldwide. Not sure of the price. Should have it in a week or 3. Just waiting for the Australian manager to get back from the China expo. That's right Jim. I will be testing a battery from Deye soon. They should be sold worldwide. deye.com/product/rw-m6-1-b/ RW-M6.1-B. They make a lot of batteries. These are the 48v batteries Or Low Volt batteries they call them. deye.com/product-category/ess-battery/low-voltage-series/

@@ChileExpatFamily Your welcome as always, brother. I am happy to test the Deye battery. My videos go worldwide, so I try to test gear others can buy. I don't know much about them. They are build like the Green bank lithium battery. Same charging parameters, I just don't know the cost yet.

@@ChileExpatFamily True, The Deye in the US are sold under a few brands. Sun synk or Sunsynk is one rebranded unit made by Deye. Basically, if you buy them by the container load, you can have them made with your brand name to your specs. I am not sure if they have the same quality heat sinks or anything like that. You just need to do a bit of homework, Jim. Also look closely at the batteries these US distributors have on offer. They may or may not be rebranded Deye batteries.
