This weekend is SoCal SOTA (socalsota.com) so I hit a couple summits. (SOTA is Summits On The Air, sota.org.uk/ ) This video is mostly from Hi Mountain, W6/SC-159 (despite saying 157 in the video, I was being a dumbass...) but I also activated Tassajera Peak, W6/SC-207 earlier in the day.
While filming at Hi Mountain, I saw several condors flying over head! Which is appropriate since the site is a condor lookout now; see condorlookout.com for more information on the awesome work they do. I’ve been to this site several times before, but never actually seen condors flying around. There were over a dozen of them. They’re such beautiful and graceful birds.
Anyway. Not a lot exciting in this video, but it’s a look at what it’s like for me doing SOTA while being a dumbass.
