I hate when teachers know they're being 'observed,' because then they'll act all differently and "put on a show," so to speak, creating an atmosphere that everyone who knows the teacher knows is obviously fake, and spoiling the accuracy of the observational study being done on them and their teaching performance. (bonus: if the teacher is mean, but acts nice as "part of the show")

This is legitimately my entire elementary-6th grade experience. There was once when I got bronchitis that turned into full blown pneumonia. I was feeling awful, went to my teacher and basically this grown woman argued with an only semi conscious child with a 104 fever about how she didn’t “think” I was sick. I was out of class for seven days and dropped a grade letter because she refused to give me the work. What an impossible woman.

Worst teacher story: My teacher in fourth grade decided not to tell me I was showing symptoms anxiety (i thought i was weird and not normal). I was freaking out on tests and wasn't doing well even though I was great at other subjects and homework. She sent me to the autistic class. It was a great, quiet class and I did way better in it. BECAUSE THEY WERE LEARNING BASIC ADDITION >:OO Anyway, I felt even more secluded at recess. A new kid moved in and my best friend quickly became friends with them (they're dating now, its rlly cute). I got caught in a toxic relationship, whilst being sent out for tests and treated like a 3 year old by my teacher. I'm glad I'm out of her class, but it's caused my anxiety to become more of a problem. I'm glad my 5th grade teacher was THE BEST! Ya know, giving out squishies and such for anxious kids, letting kids take tests later in a quieter place, etc. It was great

I actually had pretty good teachers. In 5th grade I had a lesbian teacher and her wife was really nice. And in 6th grade I had a gay teacher but we never met his husband. I've always had great teachers every year except for Mrs. Streeter. She yelled at me for asking a student for help and then said I could ask her for help. When I did she said ask a student for help first. Asked a student for help and got yelled at again and got 20 points deducted on my grade.

I raised my hand and asked if I could go to the nurse. My teacher downright said no and told me to lay my head on my desk. I still felt really sick and it got worse and worse. I continuously asked to go to the nurse and she kept on saying no. After the test we went to go sit on the rug and I threw up all over the rug. I was escorted to the nurse with a trash can and left school. I felt better as soon as I got home. I just needed to throw up. And she wouldn't let me go to the nurse and do it privately.

My Geography teacher kept going off-topic a lot of times and blamed us for her mistakes. Parent-Teacher conference for my dad and a lot of other's classmates were literally shocked because she did nothing to tell our parents of how we are doing but literally spilled her personal life struggles like she couldn't have kids, has 3 divorces, liked trivia, and all of us were basically just there and waiting until she will stop talking about her dogs. I used to have a teacher like this and it was awful. She treated us like children (ok sure we sort of were, but we were 12-13 at the time). As soon as we got into highschool the next year, the teachers suddenly gave us a level of respect

My teacher last year and she had some faviroute students..... There was like a group of boys and she literally favoured them. I was the HATED student. Haha I thought a trouble making boy was the hated one but NO! I WAS THE ONE. I've had two teachers who got off topic really easily if you asked the right questions. Well.. one was just a substitute we had like one time, but still😂 I don't remember what class/subject it was, but while he was teaching he mentioned rocks, at first it was because of whatever it was we were reading about, but then he just continued talking about how much he likes rocks and stuff 😂😂😂 Years later, I had a math teacher who didn't even like math himself, and I thiiink he also said that he wasn't even educated to be a teacher😂 we never had homework as long as we finished the tasks he gave us during class and the last 1 or 2 weeks before christmas (we had him for 1 ½ hours once a week) he just gave us some christmas related riddles we could solve - if we wanted to. We could also do math if we wanted to, but it was up to us (no one did math ofc😂). Idk what grade/school this would be in the US, but I was 16/17, so I'm guessing high school? 😂 and this one guy in our class decided it was his job to always try and get the teacher as far off topic as he possibly could, for as long as possible😂 if you just asked the right question the teacher would just stand there and talk about what school was like when he was our age until class was over😂😂 And I can honestly say I've NEVER done as well in math as I did that year😂
