We got 21.8 inches of snow from snow storm izzy and my snow joe took care of it all including what the plow left at foot of driveway, it was heavy snow too but it got through it all no problem, the snow was higher then my snow joe but nothing stopped it, my snow joe performed better then some of the gas powered snow blowers I've had and there is no maintenance, just plug it in and go, I highly recommend it!

I have the same model and for 2 years it was great. After that it kept clogging with snow more and more. I found out the SnoJo uses a plastic drive wheel and a rubber belt to drive the auger. Over time the belt loosens and the plastic gear wears and slips more and more. Then you find out that SnoJo never has replacement parts available. So every 3 years you have to buy a new one.

I just ordered one after two 10" snowfalls in like, 2 weeks. Ug! Been using my same regular shovel for nearly 23 years (old as my hip replacement) and I'm older and aching now, lol. I only need to use it on my walk which is pretty short, some sidewalk and I only do my driveway apron since I park just off the sidewalk when I know a storm is coming. Hopefully it will last!

4:09 - ugh i remember those days lol. I see the appeal esp with space usage but there's just no match for a 2 stage gas blower. The plow ridge alone at the end of the driveway would take me over an hour churning thru it. And good luck if there's ice chunks. The entire 6 car driveway now takes me about 20 min - regardless if there's 2 inches of 18 inches. And maintenance is nothing - just turn the gas valve off when you're done and it'll run the carb dry. Put seafoam in there at the end of the season and run it dry. Starts on one pull beginning of next season.

Take your time and put car wax on it. Took me 10 minutes. If you do the outside, it will be lighter to push but not necessary. I used all kinds of lubes but nothing stays like wax. Thank me later. These don't really work well on gravel, grass or uneven surfaces. They push badly. Have the Joe power shovel for that. And my 12'x12' deck.This 18" is fine for paved driveways if you don't want to spend big bucks. Have a small gas for the gravel driveway here however.

I can tell you right now shoving it will take a chance on braking the scraper blade which is replaceable but you will also end up damaging the the belly on which the scraper blade attaches to which is not replaceable, I know this off hand (need a whole new snow blower). It will depend on hard snow/ice you shove against. for the life of me I don't know why it couldn't be made of aluminum bottom along with scraper blade

Considering this for my sidewalk. It is close to the house and as I get older I think using the shovel less would be good to do. The auger was what got my attn on this model. The video makes me think this would do fine and might be more than I need for the small area.

Dude,you have to tilt the machine up if you're going to try to use that machine with deeper snow.And again it looks like you're abusing the extension cord by not being mindful of the extension cord and keeping the extension cord out of the machine's path.Thanks for the video and may God always bless you and your family.

Poor thing wasn't designed for over 10" inches of snow. This demo shows it's push over its limit. But still success. Not sure how long many times (not years) of this little thing can do on the big ones.
@beebob1279
@beebob1279 2 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on how many big storms you get. Where I am we usually get 4 inches. Maybe once or twice a year we get 10 to 12 inch storms. Every decade of so we get a 2-3 foot snow. With this the idea would be to get out during the storm and keep up with the snowfall.

What extension cord you recommend?
@NevadaScrubJay
@NevadaScrubJay 2 жыл бұрын
Just for your viewers; a heavier than normal extension cord is recommended for a 15 amps snowblower? For a 50 ft cord 14 gauge should be about right. I just bought the 21 inch 15 amp Snow Joe. And, for a 100 ft; I bought a 12 gauge extinction cord.
@matsudakodo
@matsudakodo 2 жыл бұрын
12 gauge should be required over 50 feet due to voltage drop with distance. 100 feet with 14 gauge can burn out the motor.

Just take it slower. Had a nasty snow storm in Ontario Canada about a month ago where we got 16-20" and my Snow Joe worked really well. I've had it overheat in the past so this time I helped ease pressure on the motor by first using a spade to chop up and loosen the snow before each pass. It didn't require much effort at all but made the snow easier to handle. We had another snow storm last week (8") and I did my driveway as well my neighbours without any problems. Beats the heck out of shoveling, and it's light enough to carry to the basement when winter is finally over.

@@adventuresindaveland6204 Kind of ironic how my cordless lawnmower LED light stays on all the time since there is no semwitch and this wastes a bit of electricity during day, but our electric snow joes like this one in the video has unlimited power yet it has the switch my cordless lawnmower could use to save a bit of electricity.

@adventuresindaveland6204
@adventuresindaveland6204 2 жыл бұрын
It does, but I've never used it on hard snow deeper than a couple inches. If you wind up with a layer of ice on top of your driveway it's not much good against that. I've always tried to stay ahead of that by going out and dealing with the snow right after it falls.

I bought the small cordless one 13” it doesn’t have wheels I thought wouldn’t be good with wheels and then someone told me that you just glided along on the snow and it is supposed to be 14 pounds, but it feels kind of heavy to hold for a woman with a battery and it seems kind of backbreaking if you can’t put it down on the ground and push it Haven’t used it yet - we shall see In the ad on TV they had a plastic bag underneath for the ground, so I’m not sure why they did that but I’m kind of thinking the bottom of your machine make it all scratched up
