Going to be a good pool. England are not the same team. Japan have dropped in form at the wrong time. Argentina should win the the pool. But Samoa....we don't know what to expect. If they can win their set pieces (lineouts aren't looking great), this could give them more continuity and flow to show Samoan flair and showcase island rugby.

Their issues lie with their management and rugby union, often leaving their players unpaid and shorthanded. As a team, they should be the equivalent of Fiji and were actually around the top 10 early 2010s

Titi Lamositele doesn't appear to have made the Samoan squad, but having played 3 minutes in a warm up game he's now no longer ever eligible to play for the US, the country he was born in and learned to play rugby in. Thanks, World Rugby.

The real value of Moana Pasifika is that Samoan and Tongan players have an easier path to professional Rugby without resorting to playing for exploitative French clubs who threaten to not resign them if they play Test Rugby, generally the only time they can get something that resembles a full strength team is during World Cups but they've spent such little time together that they could never gel, just a group of talented athletes rather than a true team. Really looking forward to watching the Pacific Island teams this year, especially with the influx of former All Blacks and Wallabies, that high level test experience will be a massive boost and with a relatively weak pool I can see them making the Quarter Final, I wouldn't put money on it but I wouldn't be surprised.

I think the Pacific Islanders play some of the best looking rugby, my favorite being Fiji, unfortunately the issue I think is their match fitness, they don’t compete as consistently as the Tier 1 teams , so lack that cohesion and match fitness. It’s a shame, because watching them play is a joy.
