Echoes was always my favorite Prime game. I still vividly remember so many of the environments and enemies. Everything was all so memorable and well done.

Just beat Prime 2 for the first time, and my personal favorite suit has to be the light suit.

Yeah, this one gets it right neck-down. It fixes pretty much every nitpick I have with the Prime 1's suit and then some.

100% the way Samus' Varia suit should be depicted. It's sharp, well-defined, and contains that ornate look the Chozo have always meant to have. It's her ultimate Varia design.

Prime 2 easily has the trophy for best set of suits in the series. The definitive Varia Suit, the intimidating Dark Suit and the sleek and feminine Light Suit. What I like most of this set of suits is how wildly they vary between each other. Honestly, I wish Samus' suit designs would vary more between upgrade levels. Dread was a step in the right directions, having the suit become even bulkier as upgrades stacked, giving the Gravity a much needed distinction from the Varia Suit aside from coloration. Silhouettes are definitely important when it comes to character design (i.e. the mercenaries in TF2 are a _prime_ example) and it's a shame that one would be hard pressed when asked to differentiate one suit from another just by silhouette, Prime 1 being the worst offender. Heck, we only got shoulder pads added onto our favorite bounty hunter thanks to system limitations, and then Super Metroid took a step back and didn't give the Gravity Suit anything to differentiate it from the Varia Suit.

I agree, for me this is the defive look for Samus, it strikes perfect balance it's slim yet it doesn't lose the more armor-like details so it still looks powerful. I'm expecting a redesign for Prime 4 but if they use this design again I wouldn't mind it at all specially because I really want to see it in HD.

YES!! This is also my favourite rendition of Samus. I was overjoyed when F4F did a statue of this design in a 1/4 scale (as well as having the best basea of any Metroid statue they've done). Prime 2's Varia Suit is to Metroid what Halo 3's Mark VI is to Halo, in my mind at least. Just the right amount of detail, not too little, not too much.

Echoes and Corruption's versions of this suit always seemed... Gentler to me? In Prime Samus and the suit look so angry, yet here they seem so much more relaxed, and I love that.

Playing through prime remastered (played prime on gamecube a LONG time ago. Now currently on my hard mode playthrough in remastered.) I actually preferred the gameplay overall in prime 2... Except the Spider Guardian (which I heard was much less tedious in the Trilogy version since they added ball jumping to 1 and 2.) It felt like all of the ideas they had in Prime 1 got refined and fleshed out, as well as used more abundantly. Prime is VERY good and I definitely prefer the atmosphere it gives over 2, but the gameplay felt better and it was more challenging in a rewarding way. Also the designs for everything were amazing. Even the splinters which gave it a very starship troopers vibe in the beginning.

Unironically my favorite design of the Varia suit in the entire series, although might be a bit biased because I just LOVE Prime 2 Echoes and "religiously" praise it

In my opinion, it should be a little more reflective, like in Prime 1. Other than that, the only suit that has a chance of beating it is the Dread Suit, and thats a different story.

I liked the more metallic sheen of the Prime 1 suit. I think Samus kind of looks like she's made of plastic in Prime 2. Not as sharp. Maybe that blends better with the world though.

Totally agree. Best Varia suit design, what I imagine when I think Samus overall. Will forever be salty that we got the Other M suit instead of this one in Smash. Is it different from the Prime 3 suit?

Seems like this version was more or les just carried over to Corruption, before having the PED Armor attached after the game's prologue.

We shouldn’t mention the elephant in the room. The varia suit or any suit doesn’t depict the distance of human shoulders versus suit shoulders correctly. Samus would have to have detached shoulders to fit the suit proportions

The prime 2 varía blew me away when I first saw it. You immediately just see the new amount of detail with it the second you see it. Especially being on the GC. Idc what anyone says I fully believe the GC had better capability than the Xbox and ps2. Prime 1 and 2 clearly showed that. Prime 2 was the first one I actually beat on my own with no help.

So I’m confused cause what I understood from Metroid fusion is that the X fused with the living parts of her suit and then into her and therefore the fusion suit was now a part of her and that she couldn’t take it off

I always knew echoes was peak prime the style was just untouchable along with the games environment. Best suites of all of prime 4real . they need to remake echoes like they did prime because it would be even better then prime

I disliked this suit back in 2004 when the demo and art were released. It then proceeded to become my favourite variant of the Varia suit to date. Shame it wasn’t in Smash Bros…

Everything about the suit was okay but the notch on top of the visor was tacky. Just my one drawback. Remove the notch and keep it like prime 1's visor.

Have to disagree, the suit looks soft and like plastic like it couldn't serve as armor and is awkwardly brightly colored compared to prime 1. Also....🤮 zero suit design. Retro tried pushing back on it, but Nintendo Japan was adamant on shitty E-girl samus. Dark suit kinda cool, kinda fugly. Light suit goes from great to awful every different angle.
