Hi guys, I want to clarify something after having a few DMs with people. I did not intend to insinuate that Twinfish left the fandom due to her ideas about the lore being challenged with So What. I was merely using her very noted departure as an example of how the Lore side of the fandom had ALREADY start to shift - whether that be people moving on to other interests or otherwise. I should have made that clearer and I apologise for not doing so.

I personally believe that So What is a reboot that begins directly after all the solos and subunits. It ignores Hi High and Butterfly. The teasers for So What were talking about the other side of the moon and how no one knew what was over there. So that is what we are seeing - the untold side of LOONA. The description for So What talks about HeeJin meeting Olivia at the end of Egoist, but it leaves out any mention of Hi High or Butterfly. So that is why Olivia is throwing the torch and burning the moon - because Hi High never happened, she never forgave Yves for leaving her in Eden. She's still pissed off. I also think it is a big middle finger to Jaden, burning his LOONAverse to the ground and starting over. This leaves a lot of room for the story to grow now, with Olivia creating so much conflict.

Glad this video exists, it should be shown to all orbits, at least those that are deadset lore is dead and that “Loona lost what makes them special”. No, its definitely there. In fact, I think the teasers lately, since butterfly, have been used conceptually to provide the lore while the MVs have been use ofc 1)promote the song & choreo but also 2) to give more of the lore but in a more direct and accessible way, easier to digest for new orbits and for casual listeners / those who do not care much for lore. I dont truly believe they’ll ever fully let go of the one thing that does set Loona apart.

I really hope Loona goes Creepy Concept. I rly like the vague or subtle creepy things in Loona's MVs and Short Films. i rly think they need an antagonist. Or a conflict that'll break loona apart, and for them to go back to their subunits. Then when reunited again, the concept will be confusion and trust. Them questioning eachother and their ownselves. It's too dark for a concept, but i rly think this will be a good Arc in the Loonaverse.

I just want to add, Kim Lip's animal is the owl. Owls represent wisdom and learning in many places, especially Ancient Greece. In So What, she is standing in front of a building that has "Cathedral of Learning" at the front of it. Coincidence? I don't think so. I'm not sure this has any plot significance, but I just wanted to add.

I realised during editing that I didn't address B#RN specifically and all I can add is that it is another facet to my point about how So What challenged a lot of preconceived notions. B#RN was built up to an idealistic and impossible standard over the course of 10 months and So What could never compete with that. I'm glad they utilised #1, however. It's a great intro to So What.

My theory is that they are trying to destroy the Mobius strip that they live in, which has trapped them in a loop if events, and escape the LOONAverse. In Hi High, they finally found each other, and tried to jump and fly in Butterfly, but a mishap caused by GoWon made them fail. She created an alternate timeline where the women we see in Butterfly from around the world became the LOONA members, which threw off the balance. They are also, like you said, trying to help these other women. They are succesful in that sense, but not in the others. Heejin fixed this and they tried again in So What using their powers, as seen in the moon burning, but the feather symbolizing the Loonaverse did not burn up. Why it did not, i don't know. This means that they will have to go on another quest to destroy the Mobius strip imprisoning them and subsequently escape the LOONAverse. I read this in the comments and thought it made sense. I'm a new orbit, so forgive me if there are any plot holes.

As with the LOONAverse we got from predebut (the one with Olivia killing Vivi and Choerry having mirror portals), I have some theory: - Firrstly, it still continue in so what. - For who hasn't know, what had happened in Hi High and Butterfly (as in the major theory) is that they gathered and tried making changes in oder to break free from the mobius they're living in, which restrains and puts them into an endless loop. They tried jumping (Hi HIgh) and flying (Butterfly) but failed. - For So what, there was a significant change in their style, the whole history was rewritten. Some scenes from the MV was actually the events in the LOONAverse that we've seen, but happened in a radically different way. (Choerry and Hyunjin, Kim Lip and Heejin, Chuu and Gowon from HI High; Kim Lip and Yves in their solo MV). - Yeojin in this universe are not in the forest, but Haseul does (or somehow disappear). - Olivia take the power from the changes and put the LOONAverse into fire. The question is: Did they succeed? - They did, look at the FREE in the end. - They didn't. The feather, which represent the LOONAverse (seen in some XX and # teasers) didn't burn out. Some side notes/minor ideas: - Haseul was challenged to choose between peace and knowledge (in let me in), she chose knowledge, killed her other self and lost Yeojin, with the help of Jinsoul, they reunit. In this second time, she chose peace from the first place and lost herself (Idk, maybe it's really because of her illness). - Maybe the feather was actually Haseul, she will recover strong and come back with us. - Hi High is OEC's idea (you can see they finding each other in Girl Front, the songs sounds similar). - Butterfly is Yves and Gowon's idea (the songs share the same theme - self-love, their colors appears in the teasers, and Gowon is apparently a butterfly). - So what is Olivia Hye's idea (she burns stuff in her solo MV, she's the girl crush and more, So what has so many resemblance to her MV). Thank you for this video. I've been trying to articulate my feelings about So What and the "#" era for so long and I think you've done so perfectly. Hopefully some of the long time Orbits can find this video too and understand where you're coming from.

In my opinion what i got from this comeback: I saw that MV as Olivia story line in her LORE. wasn't she the one in her teaser pre-bebut pictures ''that she was the destroyer'' or something in those lines !? She was holding the torch, the electronic sound like imitating a wolf growling at the very beginning of the MV. Since they cannot break the loop by running in motion, they burning it.

I think the shift from establishing lore and utilizing lore makes people assume that plot isn’t being moved.

It's already been confirmed by Olivia Hye that there's no more official lore. It's all up to what the fans imagination. BBC's shift from putting so much emphasis on the lore is one of the things that cause Jaden to leave. And because of how Jaden is, he took almost everything he had made for LOONA. One example is the song Sage by OnlyOneOf, which was meant for LOONA but Jaden took it with him when he moved onto OOO. He most likely took LOONA's lore with him as well. We know there was official lore because Choerry had mentioned before that her and the members would stay up late reading and studying the lore.

now they've released their most lore heavy teaser, so yeah the loonaverse isnt dead 🙈🙈

HI guys I'm from the later/ second half of 2020 and loona's comeback "why not" was just realeased. I'm not going to get into details (cause that would be WAY to long!!) but I think Why Not is So What from another perspective/ point of view. So What is the dark side, Why Not is earth's perspective or maybe the other side of the moon. There was a TON of references to past mvs, teasers, etc. The reference that I think is one of the coolest is Chorerry sitting upside down in the mirror with odd eye circle's colors surrounding her. It's just like love cherry motion but the other side/ the flipped side of the mobiüs strip. Also let me point out how in So What there was a lot of different vehicles driving but none of the members were driving, never has any loona member driven in an MV. But in Why Not vivi, there were others too I think, was driving a car. Loona has taken control you could say. In summary, Why Not is centered around the other side, the flip side of the mobiüs strip, and Odd Eye Circle. O.E.C.'s colors red, blue, and purple are CONSTANTLY in Why Not. All in all, Why Not is nothing new, it's just a different perspective/ side of the story (I think) :)

thank you for making this video and easing away this vague uneasy feeling i have towards so what. i've never been a very stern person that said loonaverse is dead or smth like that, but i do feel like its a bit doused away, even though some parts relieved me like choerry x hyunjin imagery, the apocalyptic scene, the un-burning feather, etc, i was still worried. but this video relieves me even more, it gives me hope to loonaverse because if i'm being honest, it's one of the biggest thing that attracts me to loona. p.s. i also do hope they did not abandon away the rest of the lore behind so what, with a mere excuse of "new pages", "rebirth", or something like that :(

I hate when they say the lore is dead and So What does not capsulate Loona. One of those people is my brother and I have arguments about it. He and anyone else doesn’t see the progression in the story of the Loonaverse . He is still caught up with the previous visuals i.e. the tape recorder, the white converse, and the apple. Maybe in their next comeback they may explain their contribution in this universe and how they may not conform to the mainstream society, but rather molding to their values and beliefs. Remember there is an Eve in this story.

Um I'm new to Loona and is watching every mv Idk anything about the loonaverse but on star which people are saying is the end u go to there yt page and it has ' star' it says ' Loona has announced the starry festival' so like the rv festival it will have more parts.

I dont understand the hate for so what. Its such a good song and loonas uniqueness didnt disapear. Its just a little bit more calm. This way its easier for new fans to understand the story. Loona will be different all the time.

If I may, I dont understand why some people do not seem to understand what So What means as far as the Loonaverse is concerned. Here, the girls are "burning themselves". After coming together in "Hi High" and "recruiting" or inspiring many Loonas in the world in "Butterfly" begin to create their own world by not accepting the fate of the moon. So, yeah, I believe other comments are correct, with Butterfly as a sort of bridge between parts 1 and 2, "So What" begins part 2 when they begin to construct what they are meant or what they wanted to do, to create a world where we are free from the things that the old universe assigns to us. Yes, BBC may have toned down on the Lore but it continues. Honsstly, I find it odd that theory making seemed to have stopped after "Hi High" or to a certain extent, after "Butterfly".(I do not find any playlist that continue their MV analyses until "Why Not". They usually end at "Hi High") But with "New Moon" coming, I hope that MV analysis makers have to update their playlists and add new videos (because I love those videos, and am excited for more). So, yeah, what I think Im trying to say is I'm thankful for this video as it extends the lore explanation until "So What". (To add, I believe some of the mistakes in theory making is the notion that Ohye killed Vivi, and the emphasis on Ohye's "resentment" of other yyxy members. Egoist was about Ohye's journey towards loving herself fully and redirecting her anger from self-hate to hatred of "Eden". That is why in a short teaser-like video released after love4eva, we see Ohye finally learning to love herself and finding out that she is one with the other girls. Leading up to "Hi High" where she takes the jump after being summoned by the OEC, and with Yves waiting for her to do so. Once that is cleared, Ohye's burning of the old moon in "So What" would perfectly make sense. It is not an act of anger against any of the other girls. It is the final act she had to make to create a new world with Loona. And in the final scene, we see a bird's feather being unburnt. From fire will arise something new like a Phoenix. Which, brings us again to the "New Moon" comeback, where I believe Haseul will be important.)

Thats why I am only orbit and exol. I love singularity. Aint easy. The team has to plan every album and future promotions with more precision, even the member center chosen for each comeback. The most important, feed fans with curiosity, not boredom. EXO seemed to end their story of power aliens in 2019 forever! Loona isnt just a cute story. Loona isnt just a group with 'pretentious' plot, predebut project, diverse discography. They are saying NO NO for making a group target one public, (the most popular male) NO, for only one concept, one type of structure and choreo and style No, for being either Internationalized or Korean market Loona is fresh air, and without their biggest mentor and creator, they are free from a methodic work. The old way Loona was living didnt include much some members in the main course, and kinda separated all the subunits without conncetion. The company needs to treat Loona better, bc it is a masterpiece. All the girls are solid and multifaceted. I hope they stop overusing some members, repeating the mistake that man used to do. Plus, the narrative is just a TATIC The group needs to exist as idols, have to sell anything. The storytelling has a climax that needs to be reached and DONE!

So basically, the lore will be oversimplified from now on. I'm still disappointed with So What, not because of the lore which i think there actually are plenty of it, but the Itzy bootleg sound was a letdown.
