I haven’t tried the silent service, but I have had my ORII for 3 years. At the time John let me customize it for free, when the initial run had the bezels too tight he gladly fixed that for free, and overall has been a joy to work with. I now have an Omega, Rolex, and Cartier for the Ginault to compete with on wrist time and it still gets plenty of wrist time (it is my second most worn watch of the last 90 days and most worn overall since I started tracking almost 4 years ago)

I can't stress enough just HOW good this watch is. Just got mine earlier this week and I agree with everything said in this review. But just to add on a little on the negative side, I do wish there was a little curvature to the case. Looking at it from the side it's just a flat case with no curve at the end on the lugs. No big deal but it would have been nicer. Also the lug ends are really sharp. And I also wish the bracelet perfectly matches the edges to the case. It steps down. Aesthetically it's fine, but I understand why it does not as he outsources the bracelet in China. Lastly I feel the crown is too big, I wish it was a tad bit shorter. Over all there is no watch at this price point that remotely competes.

I’ve had my Silent Service since September 22. I continue to be amazed at how well made this watch is. It’s just an incredible watch. Mine runs -1 spd, but since I have the report detailing it’s performance in each position, I simply leave it crown up on my nightstand over night and it ends up running +1 spd. Did I mention it’s an amazing watch. I don’t wear any of my other watches for the most part these days. My only regret is that I didn’t get it with a date/cyclops, which I’ll probably do here in the future.

I've worn the heck out of my SS. Its a go to day off , do things watch for me. the light play off the dial is wonderful. The daytime lume is dope too. Also strap monster .

Great review, and a great looking dive watch. Looks fantastic for the price. 300m water resistance, COSC performance and a fully lumed sapphire bezel insert with a great (120-click) bezel action are all impressive aspects.

I have a silent service and it's fantastic. I can't wait for their next build. I've had 2 ocean rover 2 watches and was very impressed.

Bought one of these and I was so impressed I purchased a second one a week later. I sold all my other dive watches and put the money in my investment account.

will be adding this piece to my collection and I am certain it will get a lot of wrist time.. Much prefer the hands over Rolex and Tudor and love the bezel sound and action. The movement is premium and has been tested and calibrated in house in many positions so you can't go wrong. Wonderful watch and is a NO BRAINER. Great review sir!

The bezel is amazing. I compared it to my nephew's Rolex that is three years old and it is as good. Feel of the bezel is great, especially with wet hands diving, and yes, I dove with mine as I do with all my watches. Without the semi profound edges wet hands tend to slip. My one complaint is the slide clasp. I love it, but it is rather easy to not get locked in to the point desired, but this is really a minor nit picky point. All else is superb, especially when diving. The lume is great even when doing night dives.

I do agree that it would be ideal to make the bracelet quick release.

I have 2 OR's in my collection and they are really the closest thing in my collection to the build quality of my submariner. I dont think there is much out there that offer a better value per dollar imo. Really considering picking up one of these as well.

I have the SS and love everything about it except that mine runs about 15 sec/day slow on wrist, despite the 6 weeks of regulating they do. Disappointing but a great watch nonetheless. Better lume than all my watches except my Pelagos FXD. Great review. BTW, did I miss you having done a video on a new submariner? You did get that watch recently I thought.

Great review Miguel, still on the fence about this watch. Yes, looks good quality and well finished etc, etc, but rather than spending a chunk of money on this, why not save/spend a bit more and go for something like the BB58? Tough call. Cheers

That is a cool watch that Ginault put out I feel bad for a watch company releasing or debuting one and people are calling it a homage to a big brand can't win. I know about being turned down for not having a BIG following 😪

I always assumed that Ginault was a French or Swiss microbrand. Great video Miguel - it's a nice looking piece and I feel way more informed about the brand now. That lume is epic too! 👏👏👏

The clasp is a funny one. The two Rolex patents that cover the workings of Glidelock(tm) seem to be "DE60025217 (T2) ― 2006-07-13" and "JP2006130312 (A) ― 2006-05-25". With a 20-year expiry those patents won't expire until mid 2026. Patents seem to be enforced at international borders. If you order a Ginault from America you get it shipped from within America. If you get a Gibault sent to Australia, they ship it out of Asia. I think this enables them to fly more under the radar in terms of patent infringement. The only other ones on the market that I've seen doing an OTF clasp like it is Tudor with their T-Fit, because Rolex let them. You might see that in late 2026, a lot more companies start shipping clasps that look suspiciously like Glidelock! I don't think Ginault need to change this (other than for patent reasons which will eventually expire). If it's a good clasp - why change it? Who cares if it functions like a Glidelock (other than the patent office). I certainly don't.

How about anti magnetism? I personally find that important to be in a modern watch nowadays..

All four watches are as good as each other. All well built and will last a lifetime if properly looked after.

I'm so over those rolex type divers, but that one actually looks nice.

If you're going homage the Steinhart vintage diver with SW 200 elabore movement $450 much better deal.

Like the watch its homaging, too much text on the dial. Why?? Also, they had a chance to add female lugs, quick release strap, etc and still keep it under $1500. Not sure there arent better models out there for the same price or LESS, with all those options included.

Saying Seiko in the same breath as Rolex or even Tudor seems odd. Seikos are just beater watches, I have some, every one does, but they are not quality or "status" like the Rolex. I like this Ginault Silent service though. Great review, Thank you.

The more they get away from their homage roots the uglier the watch gets. This one looks like a tasteless mismass of Submarine, Planet Ocean, and Seiko. And still nothing original....
