Interested in playing? Come find us on discord and we can get you going! Lots of tutorials and help from others to get you set up and playing. You can play using a Playstation 2 & you'll need a laptop or any computer ( specs don't matter ) just to have SVDL running for you to access socom 2 online through LAN. OR you can use pcsx2 which is a PS2 Emulator.

YES I AGREE MAN! THAT ERA IS UNMATCHED, Games like GTA, MADDEN, SOCOM, WWE HCTP & SYM. This games kept me up all night fighting with friends. WOW TIME FLIES MAKES IT A LIL SAD😥 lol

this was absolutely the BEST video game ever created. I stayed up all night till sun came up 500 times playing frostfire. est is to be terrorist with M3 full auto shotgun.

Yup, paint ball in that garage. Put any gun into single shot and pick a box to hide behind. Those were good times!

If you have a decent computer or can dust off the ps2 in the closet, you can get back to playing!!! Have a solid community with people playing still. Lots of updates etc.

Download discord if you don’t have it. Join the Socom community discord server I’ll post link below. And there is a channel “ Getting-Setup” all the information you need will be there for setting up socom to play. Easiest way is using a computer and ps4 controller. discord.gg/eBJhTMXyWE

@@zachariahs.1112 I’m not sure if you can use the PS4 tbh. I haven’t played in a while though and I know they have done lots of upgrades. I think they had socom 1 playable online too. But I believe you can only use a computer ( psx2 emulator ) or a PS2 slim / fat with network card

Hey man, me and my buddies wanna come back to Socom but don’t want to play on a PS2. I assume you’re using a PC. Can you share your specs and what we can expect to pay for one? I have MAC unfortunately and will be buying a PC just for this game.

Niceeeeeee . I’m running a ryzen 3. 3gb nvidia video card and 16gb ram. Doesn’t take much to run this game! Got my pc about 3 years ago and paid around $600? Definitely wasn’t the latest out there but worked just fine for me running socom, counter strike, wow etc. Also here’s a link for the Socom Community on discord. Lots of info and help for getting started. I also believe their may be some Mac users out there playing? Can’t confirm but I do remember at one point seeing some discussion about that in the discord. I've got an iMac that's a couple years old with a Windows 10 partition and it runs Socom 2 and Combined Assault very well using PCSX2. Check out the discord for a tutorial on how to get setup

I’m running a Ryzen 3 cpu. 3gb nvidia graphics card. 16gb ram. Doesn’t take much to run the emulator for socom!
