I'm not an engine builder, and i am still learning. It would make sense if you buy or have something built by a company. It would make perfectly sense to have the tuner tune its product. 💁🏽

Being familiar with tuning and turbo system dynamics this video makes perfect sense in terms of cause of failure. It's a shame most of the internet will still try to pass the blame to the engine builders

Lets be real here, Idc who`s fault this is, when he saw the car throwing coolant out of the exhaust he should've immediately turned it off and shipped the engine back to SOHO, if that was the case then maybe just maybe it was gonna be a little easy to fix damage, am pretty sure that 75% of what we`re seeing here is a result of continuing to drive the car after the head lifted, now idc if it stopped throwing coolant or if it stays in operating temperature the fact that coolant have been seen out of the exhaust even if this happened as long as one second is enough reason to shut it off right away.

Always Always if you get an engine built, make sure the same place tunes it.

Another VQ destroyed by Admin Tuning

I happened to stumble upon this video after rebuilding my engine and getting a rod knock. I drove it around and it was fine - the oil levels and temps were OK... I let it sit for 8 hours and when I started it back up, KNOC KNOCK WTF. It lasted 1 day in November When I initially put the A2A kit on (head lift? - coolant seeped through the head gasket area, but the head gaskets and heads were checked out by machine shop and were fine). It lasted one day this month (after rebuilding with Cometic head gaskets, ARP L19 studs, test pipes, AMS crank pulley, SOHO solid mounts & SOHO oil/catch can combo). I'm about to pull the engine out today and see what happened- The compression test was okay and a borescope shows no scoring on the cylinder walls (From what I could tell).

Where are the logs showing the knock strength during the dyno pulls. Is it detonation or simply too much stress for the limits of the engine. If what your saying is true the the dyno pulls should show reveal something in relation to detonation. The engine tuner should also have been warned about the limits imposed by the exhaust manifold.

1. What power level is the higher diameter manifold suggested? 2. Are all higher power level customers running a bigger exhaust manifold? Say customers with greater than 800 hp? 3. Do you discuss this detail when selling your higher end motors? 4. Do you sell custom larger exhaust manifolds to avoid this issue (outside of the kits)? Thanks!

Very thorough explanation! Sad part is, no matter how detailed you are, someone will still put blame where it doesn't belong. Also, much respect for not pointing fingers and just sticking with what the engine tells you.

Shit assembly, contaminated gasket/hoop/deck interface. In over 30 years of seeing copper gaskets installed I’ve never not seen one need multiple retorques, every manufacturer and their engineers have more expertise than some little shop. People should stop being so cocky, I’ve had lengthy discussions with guys from Jim Wolf and Stillen and with their massive amount of experience, they never tried come across as the all out experts on all things Nissan.

A lot of ppl over look the turbo turbine housing size. To small of a turbine housing can cause high back pressure.

I like the part where the piston was hitting the head gasket hanging over into the cylinder because you guys don't know how to assemble an engine.

Copper head gaskets need to be retorqued, soho doesn't do this and causes lifted heads

Very good and informative video. Glad soho did this, especially after all the speculations and accusations they were receiving on this build. Live and you learn I guess. Can’t imagine spending 20k+ on an engine build, then the engine blowing up before you can even experience it. Then on top of that, all the money you spent on the build is wasted 🥲.
