That is way more beefy then the old one and you had it for years, so this one should last a long time. I like the different screens you made for it. Nice to see you Dave! Have a good week! See ya!

I think the changes you have made are great. I like the idea of being able to use different screens and you have got us thinking about making something similar, thanks

I hope so, I got a lot of dirt to run through this thing.

Another very informative video, I like the updated design and the ability to change out the screens. My only question is why you chose to stay with a 4ft run instead of extending it to a 6 or 8ft run? With a longer run it would allow more distance for the dirt to sift thru and not end up in the discharge pile. Thank you again for sharing your build, good to see your back making videos.

there are times when I wish the run was longer. like 6ft or more. my thought process was compact design for transport reasons. turns out I rarely transport it on the trailer. also moving it with the tractor if longer it will be more top heavy. not sure if that would have been an issue or not. may try it longer on my next build. lol if you do one longer let me know how it goes.

I've been planning to do something similar for a while. Everytime the deck returns to uncompressed would it bang causing the top nut to eventually pop off? was thinking of making the rod longer and adding another spring on the other side of the moving plate to slow it before it comes to an abrupt stop on the cycle. (Remember I know nothing and am always inspired by your videos here in Western Australia)

hmm I had not thought about adding springs on the other side. interesting. anyhow I used nylon locking nuts and did not tighten it much against the spring. it basically just sits there and eventually the threaded rod I used will break. I consider it sacrificial and the weak link, cheaper to buy threaded rod than more steel angle iron. I figure something has to give. I like your idea on the additional springs. let me know how it work. id love to see a video on that.
