Installing solar panels and battery storage can be difficult, especially when limited space is available inside a property. But the process becomes much more straightforward with Sunsynk's LifeLynk a new combined solar and battery storage unit. The unit comes with easy plug-and-play connections, making it perfect for small solar installations or quickly adding battery storage to existing installations. Additionally, we have discovered some ingenious off-grid applications for this technology.

What is the maximum load in kW on the load terminal? ie what can you run from it? What's the warranty on the inverter?

How do self contained battery/inverter units like this go in terms of mobile homes, RV/motorhomes/caravans etc as suggested in the UK? In Australia the latest standards require lithiums to be external to the living space and vented to the outside to address issue of toxic gasses if they are involved in a fire. Certain types of sodium ion batteries are being held up as the solution since they do not give off fluorine based gasses etc. They do have lower energy density, both volume and weight vs watt hours, but the difference is not terrible enough to make them impractical in mobile storage applications.

I don't think the gate at the end of a drive is a bad one, an "online" would compensate for any volt drop on the long run and in the case in a power outage the gates would still be operable

If it’s that cheap and easy to install for off grid? Then why would anyone want to export there energy that they harness for the natural sun back to the grid. Just go off grid and tell the energy companies to take a long run and jump . Also is there any laws or regulations that say you can’t go completely off grid. After all no one on this planet can lay claim to the sun . It free for all of us to use its natural energy/power . If I had the money that’s exactly what I would do. Great video Guy’s very informative and interesting.

It’s the dark nights which are the problem for full off grid.

Yes but if you have battery storage as well then I don’t see any problem, also most of are in bed sleeping by 9.30 pm . As we have to be up early for work and the kids if you have any have be up early four school ,So surely you would use power from the solar panels during the day and the power from the battery in the evening?

If people in America can go totally off grid I don’t see why we can’t . They have dark evenings as well .

@@Dog-whisperer7494 If you can live off grid great, makes much more (financial) sense for most people to be on grid, sell electricity when you can, and buy it in when you need in winter, means you can get the most out of a smaller battery system by cycling it most of the year.

@@efixx Wrong! Nights are what the battery is for, its the winter months that will be the problem, especially December and January. It is incredibly diffiuclt to go electrically off grid with solar in this country, this video is misleading and makes it sound so easy.

Big problem in this country is to access cheap night time electricity to charge batteries you must either have solar panels or an EV. If you live in a remote listed property Solar panels are not allowed and a EV is not practical also very expensive!

Octopus Agile doesn't need any of those (though better if you do obviously). I was on a cheapish tariff for ASHP (Cosy Octopus) that gave me 6 hours at 16p/kWh (off peak) 3 hours Peak at 48p/kWh, and the rest around 30p/Kwh but have just changed to Octopus Agile....now unit prices change every 30mins and aren't guaranteed or subject to price cap...most of my electricity so far (last week or so) has been under 15p/kWh say 13p/kWh on average, but between 4pm and 7pm its been 30-32p/kWh. Cheapest so far has been 8p/kWh but it can go much lower or even free, equally it COULD go really expensive (max £1/kWh) looking back over the last year that doesn't seem to have happened much if at all. My bill in January was £640 (small 3 bed semi), but had I been on Agile it would have been £399. Reckon my average kWh cost has dropped by about 20p peak peak rate and everything else has halved. Kicking myself I didn't switch sooner. If I had batteries (and I'd need a lot of them say 50kWh), and a compatible EV charger then maybe it would be cheaper on some of those EV specific tariffs but not by much.

Is it April's fools day? You've now got all the muppets out there thinking they can easily go off grid. I do seriously hope that cafe kept their generator, as that system is going to be next to useless in the winter, and if they don't clean the panels regularly it will be useless all the time.

Lets not put lithium batteries in houses/ connected garages/under ground car parks/boats … No way to put out the fire
@retrozmachine1189

This unit uses LiFePO4 cells which have far less runaway issues than NMC etc to the point where runaway is really not an issue unless they are severely abused. If you are concerned only about the burning things down aspect, you can rest safe in the knowledge that your building being on fire is likely how your lifepo4 cells caught on fire rather than the other way around. It's still not a good idea to have them inside a living space since if they are involved in a fire, not necessarily the cause of, the gasses they release are quite nasty.
@ice-cp2vz
@ice-cp2vz 2 ай бұрын
Well, as far less and Quite nasty are off the cards lets increase the odds by rolling out more home batteries ,few years degradation and roll the dice. @@retrozmachine1189
