Classic Buick! This is when GM built true full sized cars. I know the seats are from the 1984 Buick Park Avenue. I know because Oldsmobile used 1984 Ninety Eight seats on the Delta 88 Royale Brougham LS. I often think GM knew the world was not ready for the downsized cars that came. This was a nice LeSabre Limited. This car exemplifies when GM used to get it right. Sad to say Buick is nothing but crossovers now. No sedans or coupes. The only thing that sucked about the car was the engine. This is indeed a collector's piece. Thank you for sharing.

We forget how beautiful and luxurious some of those 80’s GM cars were. My grandma drove a 1985 Oldsmobile 98 Regency. It was so quiet and smooth, like riding on a cloud, it had all the bells and whistles. I loved that car

The 1980s, to some, weren't a high point in American automotive engineering but compared to today's tin and plastic junk, they sure look good.

I had an 85 LeSabre in black with burgundy velore seats. I had to replace the driver door upper and opera lights in the early 90s. Had it transported to AZ from NY. Listed it in Auto trader magazine, of the day. A guy drove up from Tuscon to Phx an bought it from me (wife needed a new car, selling the LeSabre I could get more $$) The tops of the doors and the perfect steering wheel is worth the price of admission. Years later I got & still have an 1985 Riviera, Tan with blue top & interior. Don't let this one pass you by!

The startup on this baby was absolutely flawless - quick and quiet, just like when brand new. Years ago, I had a 1988 Park Avenue which had the exact same pillow top leather seats. None of GM's other divisions were able to top Buick's pillow top seats. Absolutely lovely vehicle. This video was a joy. Thanks!

Yeah! We were Buick people. When I was a kid, we had a 79 and an 84 La Sabre: the last of the "pillow, floating" rides. Miss that feel. I'm trying to find a 79 La Sabre 2 door.... Hard to find in good condition, for the purpose you state. LOL! Nothing like a true freeway cruiser to relive some childhood memories.

@@elmowilson298 Yeah, they did. My Dad owned repair shops and service stations from 1955-1994. Up to 1961, he drove Mercury. But, Ford had huge quality problems after the Edsel failed. His first Buick was a 58 Buick Special, and many after. The first car I remember was our 72 Electra. But the best car we had was a 77 Skylark with the 305 that went 400K mi's + with regular maintenance, and one transmission. It never even had the top end rebuilt. When GM canceled Buick specific engines, my Dad switched back to Ford for the 4.6. And with all of GM's problems, I did the same. It's sad where American Automotive has gone: now it's contracted part, outside engineering, and built on the cheap. I've owned a 99 ford truck for 17 years that has 550K mis on the original engine and buying a new truck for the 5.0, now that it's design is proven. You won't find me in a new GM product anytime soon. LOL. Let's hope GM brings Buick and Chevrolet back to their previous quality or they will not survive, specially when most of their lines are made in Mexico. That's not going to go well, when people figure it out.

Buick used to have this air of subtle regality that will be missed. Growing up in South Carolina in the 80s and 90s, these were commonly seen (along with its platform-mates and similar cars from Ford and Chrysler). There’s just a sense of occasion with those big boats and they had the same effect when they were new. Even as a kid, I understood the vibe of Buick - in the GM hierarchy and the class it was a part of. Nothing they currently make interests me; but this is phenomenal! Best wishes for a successful sale 🙌

Oh yes, what a treat! It's so good to see a nice mint-condition 1985 Buick LeSabre Collector's Edition. Boy, if I had the money, I'd buy it in a flash. This is Buick as I knew it, back when they were still making great cars before things went awry with the front wheel drive, wheezy, underpowered plastic garbage that came later. Now here we are in 2020, and if you go to your friendly Buick dealer today, all you'll find are SUV's! (8/8/2020)

That Buick road atlas didn't come with these cars originally unless Buick released photos of the 1988 Regal 3 years before it debuted lol. Great car though, I had a grey '85 Lesabre collectors edition coupe when I was a teenager, had the leather seats like this, I think I paid $800 for it and sold it a couple months later for $1,900, biggest lump sum of money I ever had until then. Makes you wonder why he didn't just go full out and check every option. I guess he ordered it exactly like he wanted. It definitely has some rare options for a LeSabre like leather, dual power seats, and the Twilight Sentinel but has the basic radio without cassette, no cornering lamps, electronic touch climate control, or lamp monitors. I had a 1990 Estate Wagon that basically had every option available except the radio with the graphic equalizer or wire wheels and I really thought the lamp monitors and cornering lamps were really neat at night. Especially considering they were probably each under $100 options so they were a great value IMO. It definitely is not easy to find head lamps today that work with the fiber optics in the lamp monitors though.

Actually this car was originally ordered with the AM/FM cassette equalizer model radio (RPO UX1), which was the highest end radio you could order at the time. I'm guessing the original radio had an issue or was possibly stolen at one time, and was replaced with a basic AM/FM radio.

@@jeffreyrigged The big Fleetwood Broughams used the 249 Cadillac engine until 1985. They switched to the 307 Oldsmobile in 1986, and then they used Chevy engines from 1991 until 1996. One of my cars is a 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood. I swapped in a strong running 455 Buick engine and a TH 350 transmission. I added a few goodies such as a 160 MPH Autometer speedometer, 3 inch exhaust pipes with 12 inch long glasspack mufflers to give it that perfect Harley Davidson rumble kind of sound, etc. One day I wanted to find out how fast it could go but I got scared when I reached 150, and I slowed back down. I'm amazed at how easy it is to swap a bigger engine into the intermediate and full size rear wheel drive GM cars from the 1980's. I saw a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 455 Pontiac engine under the hood, and one of my neighbors swapped a 454 Chevy into his 1987 Monte Carlo. It's a shame how GM went crazy with the front wheel drive, downsizing nonsense in the late 1980's.

Things like seat belt tags wood grain dashes (simulated) clear gauges rubber seals etc etc.ect.... Then the test drive literally gives the illusion that I'm actually test driving the car in real time. Exellent work!! Just when I think that I've seen your best stuff you pull out another jem. Just a overall a+ car. The molding job you did Anthony looked factory to me could not have known it. The screw in the front bumper if it bothers someone just paint the top of the screw flat black or put a screw in the other side to match like it was made that way. No big deal to me. Sure there will be stone chips the car is 35 years old but hey they were minimal and the show up more on the white paint. Just a beautiful Unit Anthony and it will sell real fast I know. Beautiful car, and good luck with the sale. I just hope you priced it reasonable considering the a/c and horn doesn't work. Horn is probably an easy fix, but that will make it fail a safety inspection in some states or if you sell it to somebody in Europe(American boats are hot in Europe right now). The A/C, I had my old R12 Lexus converted when it leaked out, they replaced the leaky o-ring and it was less than $300, worked just as good as before.

I currently own an 1985 Buick lasabre( collectors edition) Green and 2 door with the automatic headlights, pwr windows, seats, Mirrors, etc. I had my car since 3-26-05. If I can trade mines in for this one, I will feel like I just won the lottery. Of course mines is nowhere in the condition this one is in!

Love it! I like the gray one, too. I always thought these Buicks were the best looking GMs of the day, very tastefully styled.

Buick quality is so much better than any other GM products. This car is definitely worth it! I wish I could've bought this nice car.

I bought one of these, 1 owner, in 1993, and drove it until 1999. I sold it upon getting another vehicle. The family that bought it recently told me they got many years of service out of that vehicle.

This is crazy, car was built at the GM Fairfax plant in KC when my grandfather was working there. I know exactly where the original owners house is and where the dealership is, the dealer is now a Dodge dealer. Amazing how small this world is.

I don't get some of these comments asking the price when it's right in the video. Another guy wants to know if it's rear wheel drive? A couple others asked is it for sale? Yeesh. There's always the tire kickers.

This was my first car, I want a two door so badly. A two door murdered out LeSabre with a big turbo would be so dope. An LNX. Drool

I owned a wagon version. Drove magnificent but mine must have been a Friday car because it broke often. My children were 5 and 3 when I sold it and they still remember going to the drive in, sitting 4 across in the back seat watching The Iron Giant.

Had a very close car to this, lower trim level (Custom), polar white with blue velour. Same stainless rockers, 307 Chevy, i believe. Added air shocks to improve the stance. Good mom car in the late '80's, early '90's.
