the early part of the Downs, westside, there is trails about 5/10 mile north of that official way, that are much more in woodland and so forth, might not be fastest but less rambling through arable fields and so on.

you are an inspiration and you have inspired me more than you know. I’ve been watching your videos for around 6 months now, and I am now obsessed with camping. The only problem is, I now don’t enjoy siting at home and watching Netflix. Thank you for inspiring me and others, if I never watched your videos, I wouldn’t have woke up. You have reminded people to connect to theirs true nature. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 😊😊

I am in the US but I love watching your videos. I hope to do a walking holiday in the UK some time. I have done three treks at Philmont in the US. It is a Boy Scouts camp in the mountains of northern New Mexico. You want hot? Go there. Indian Writings camp (been there three times) has always been well over 100 F! I live near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Here, lack of water is not the issue, it is humidity and rain. But I love hiking. Love getting out there. Love your content. One day I will hope a jet and hike in the UK.

The sun always shines down here in t'south, Hazey lad. That's why the beer is so bloody expensive, to keep the rabble away 😁 Not many streams or ponds on the downs, due to them being made of porous chalk. The ones there are, generally dry out in summer. Crack on!

For these heatwave walks you could take a leaf from the US PCT and CDT walkers that carry a folding umbrella for shade... But I'm really enjoying this yomp. I've visited these areas on holiday as a tourist but this is making me consider hiking it, something very different from my usual Scottish haunts.
