Had some days off so i decided to take a trip to the ELA. Paddled around 7.5 km and portaged twice to get onto Manomin Lake where I would stay the night. Fire ban was still in effect during the time of this trip so no fire to keep me up into the night. Made some BLT's and pancakes and hit the water early in the morning. This area has quickly become a favorite of mine and I always bump into great people. If you have the chance to explore this area you won't regret it!

I watched an earlier video of yours and this one. You now have a different canoe and are using a single paddle. Thoughts on preferences? I wonder if a lightweight single pack set up would allow for one trip portaging and faster travel?

The new canoe is absolutely beautiful, it’s a phoenix from the company northstar. It’s only 28lbs but a little less stable compared to the Adirondack I was paddling. I’ve switched to a traditional canoe paddle because I prefer the feeling of paddling with a canoe paddle, a kayak paddle is more efficient so I’m thinking of bringing both from now on. I’ve thought about single packing but since I’m filming I have a bunch of camera gear to bring and it would be too difficult to do one trip. Also helps stabilize the canoe having a pack in the front of the boat and the back

Of course; I didn’t think about the extra gear you must pack. I think the two paddle types is a great idea as a spare is always smart.
