Pointing out the fact that by rolling the tarp edge up instead of under to funnel the rain and create a water collection point is why your videos are so good. You demonstrate a common-sense application of using what you have which is invaluable.

I enjoy how you show that you can have fun out in the woods with an overnight and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg and your first born child. You show the quality of the stuff that you buy and explain what else was there and why you chose what you did. Thank you for all the information.

One thing I really appreciate about your channel is that you show that it is possible to make do with the crappiest of equipment. Who would try to baton a tree with a $1 paring knife? If you didn't have that, I'm sure that you could show us how to make a cutting utensil out of a soda can or bottle. You've learned some mad skills. Thank you for sharing them with us l. And the fun little dinner you make afterwards adds a lighthearted aspect that always makes me grin.

The great thing about this video is that you show how to do things with cheap gear and supplies. I think that's the best way for people new to camping, prepping, and survival that gets overlooked. Your going to make a few mistakes along the way as you learn. Accidents can happen. You'll feel a lot better knowing it's not going to cost much to replace something than you will when you ruin something that cost you a substantial investment. As you learn and get better, then it's a good idea to upgrade. Keep up the great work and videos. Every Sunday is a treat thanks to you.

I had the same idea for the port-A-potty when I was driving a truck OTR but my wife found a 5 gallon bucket toilet seat with a lid and that's more handy than just doing your no.2. It's a trash bucket with a lid, and I also have a foam insert that will also keep your beers cold for that use as well. Of course always keep 6 gallon trash bags for liners, especially for waste uses, 😆 but keep up the good work and God bless🙏

I’m not going to read 2k+ comments, but this is a good exercise in scrounging and adaptation. Your fancy gear could be lost, stolen, or not accessible. In an urban environment there are plenty of these cheap retail stores that offer opportunities for gear. This video has some good tips, especially with the insulated container. Let this video be an inspiration for ingenuity. Your survival might depend on it.

Watching like this that you do made me the “expert” when hubby and I went camping for the first time in 30 years last weekend. My knot tying skills still suck and I need a lot of practice to keep our tent from flying away. We won’t talk about the tent stakes pulling loose. Nope, we won’t talk about that. 😂 but I was the fire making queen and was able to get a good sustainable fire going pretty quickly.

👍👍👍 .. great stuff .. thanks for sharing 😊. Some 'useless information 🙄😏 .. Back in '72, as a young 22 year old Gold Mining Learner Official, I recall a conversation I had with my then Mining Training Instructor, Alan Taylor, a Welshman. We were talking about the Annual Winter Migration of Hobos from chilly Johannesburg on the South African Highveld down to the warmer Coastal City of Durban. Having grown up in Durban, I had been privy to this migration .. our City Centre, Beaches, Parks, Woodlands, etc showing an increased presence of this migratory species over the balmy winter period. Ok .. now where is this is going. Alan in humour, referred to these Gentlemen as 'Knight's of the Road' 😊 .. I can still hear it being said in his unique 'Welsh Lilt'. I'm sure that those Knight's of the Road (and us, your viewers) would have (do) appreciated your practical advice on no-nonsense 'getting it done'. Thanks Shaun, for the Posting .. and the fond Memories that it dug up .. Alan, his 'Knights of the Road' and more from that period in time .. 👍. Take care .. Tommy

The slanting tarp is a great idea for directing rain away from one’s sleeping space and for catching rain. And your port-a-pot idea is fantastic. Us ladies should give you a standing ovation for that, as it saves one’s arse from poison ivy, snake bite, and other predators one may encounter away from the safety of the campfire area. And thank you for that demonstration that proves it’s efficacy. LOL The tiki torches are a nice idea too. They may also help keep those cursed skeeters away. You know how I feel about those germ-carrying kamikaze bombers.

I like you corporal, mainly because of your honesty. There is no BS with you. You show us how it really is. Other survivalists don't come across like you do. I would love to serve with you.

Another great and informative video corporal. Keep them coming. I always learn something and I'm 60 and I've been doing it longer than you've been alive but I still learn from you. You're a great teacher.

Your videos have become a Sunday tradition for my 6 month old grand daughter and me, Corp. Glad you're showing folk that a person doesn't have to spend a whole lot of money to have a whole lot of fun with friends/peace of mind/ out in the woods. Keep up the great work!
