Max Patch was my favorite camping spot on the Appalachian Trail south of Hot Springs in North Carolina. It's maintained to be treeless and camping is allowed on top, but the toilet area was a mess. Check it out if you are ever in the southeastern USA. Thanks, Paul, I enjoy your channel immensely! 👍☺

Nice to see you rocking a bit of a scandinavian setup with a Baltoro and a Soulo, two very respected products here in Denmark. I don't much fancy a liquid alcohol burner on a little table in my very narrow vestibule though, just makes me uneasy, though I am 100% confident you know what you're doing and it is safer than it looks. Great to see you still rock your Soulo. Greetings from Denmark

In the wind and this conditions I use this stove as it’s spill proof and only small. The cone concentrates the heat so very little flame needed and i find it safer.
@greenpanda7121
@greenpanda7121 2 жыл бұрын
@@PaulMessner I was unaware it was spill proof, perfect. I'm not a huge fan of a flame or carrying flammable liquid but I can see the advantage, especially the reliability and silence. I currently use a windburner which I find very stable, reliable, efficient and safe, though it is by no means ultralight. I shall endeavour to try a spill proof alcohol burner, looks very cosy

This is the 1st video I've seen that shows how to take down the Soulo while it's still guyed out in gusty windy weather conditions. I often experience strong gusty windy weather when up in the high Sierras here in the Western part of U.S.A. Any Hilleberg tent, I have an Enan, is worth every penny because I know my tent will provide me with shelter during a storm. I like that small folding table & just bought one off eBay. My personal preference for a heat source is the Soto Windmaster. I put a cutoff toe part of a wool sock & put it around the fuel canister & sleep with it to keep the contents warm. My preference is a pair of Down booties to keep my feet warm in preference to a hot water bottle. When I plan to eat Freeze Dried meal when camping, I take the meal out of the foil pack & place it in a 1qt Freezer ziplock baggie. After boiling water I then pour the Freeze Dried meal into my cup of boiling water. A Koozie around the cup keeps my meal HOT HOT right down to the last sporkful. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

so i've watched a couple of your videos and i don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but that liquid fuel is extremely close to your stove, like even when your lighting it up, i feel like a bad accident could happened. stay safe!
