a better solution is just do what wow does, once you pick up a piece of gear, automatically tick [x] true to that piece of gear on your account, and then whenever you want, use any piece of gear you have found, no need to bog the game down with storage info of each character, just current character glam data and that should free up some data storage space for a few more plates at leasst

It's weird that the plates themselves are so restrictive. Seems like they're stored server-side on your character's data and I'm guessing this is so your plates stay synced between systems if you play on multiple computers or so people don't somehow cheat items that they don't have on a plate.... but if they just gave us an unlimited amount and made it client-side instead, they could just.... add a check for whether your character actually owns something when you try to apply it, and add an export/import function?

@@TerryVideoZone wouldnt even have to make it client side, wow has a similar system, except once you pick up an item, its stored on your character (maybe even account so all characters can use it?) if they implimented a similar system, it would free up a lot of space that they have to use for character data when you have to hold onto the item or put it in a dresser for it to work if they did take another page from wow in this sense, then the changing of gears appearance would become 100% client side other than storing who picked up what, and lets be real, they reuse a lot of the same outfits, so a lot of the data could likely be compressed down that way too

The inventory and storage system as a whole needs an overhaul imo

what they have in world of warcraft i thought was helpful of having a dungeon/raid boss guide that shows all the attacks and all the item drops so you can maybe see the item what it looks like and where to get it

Could you go into more detail about how the glam system works in GW2 and the things you like in that aspect? I tried playing it back in 2014 and the glam/looks of gear and having basically the same gear even when I was lvl 80 with a Necro put me off.

@@LightyGab I can try, but there are definitely videos that would cover it better than I, and with more recent info. I've been very into ffxiv the past few months. I don't think its really changed much, if you're asking after what I think you are. And it's one of the things I love about GW2. I still don't use materia cause it just, confuses me so much. I don't care for thinking too hard about stats at all. There's the 'wardrobe' and the 'outfits'. 'Outfits' can be worn over any armor and cover the whole body. You can dye them. But it's kind of a set look. The 'Wardrobe' requires transmutation charges. Similar to glamor prisms and changing the look of gear. You're able to hide gloves, headgear, backpiece, and shoulders. What I like most is that it doesn't take up inventory. And any armor or weapons you aquire, the moment you bind them to you, are unlocked as wardrobe pieces right away. You go to the 'hero panel' aka character screen. That has EVERYTHING. Dyes, wardrobe unlocks, outfits, chairs, mounts, gliders, other novelties and toys and unlockables. I can't really do it justice with a comment. Uh, as for stats, there's like this bew rune thing? I'm really not the person to ask on that front. I adore GW2 combat system. No buttons or abilities taken away ever. Group content across all levels is easy peasy. I just, GW2 is such a different style of mmo. I've loved it for over 11 years, all the way to GW1. Ffxiv scratches one itch for me, GW2 another. For me, each satisfies where the other either fails or falls short. In some things they're equal, but it's like, they're both ice cream which I love but each a different flavor. I hope this helped at all. I do recommend looking elsewhere for something more in depth though ^^

I also don't care about stats and any of that I just care about looking good but also having fun with my class and actually know how to play it, too cumbersome classes with long rotations that I have to memorize like in 14 I don't do well with. I enjoyed GW2 from what I remember, the music, the views, under water combat, classes can't say much cause I don't remember and story either. I don't think I could handle another MMO BUT maybe who knows give it a shot again could be in the books. Is there like a system where you can get "tome" gear there for each level cap or just an easy way where you just exchange a currency for it, I remember trying to learn crafting in GW2 to get "cool" gear and boy that was a mess for me, I also don't craft in 14 cause it's just not my thing so that's why I'm asking.

@@LightyGab Oh neat! I'm glad it's helpful. I really love GW2. I hope if you get back into it you can really enjoy it this time. I need to do some story catch up myself actually lol. Well, for the most recent stuff. I love GW2 story, and the fact that my character is FULLY VOICED. Adds SO much for me. WoL being voiceless is fun too and kinda hilarious, but I just, love having that voice. Makes me feel alive and real. Male sylvari is my main ^-^ I'm not a big craft person, but I'd say ffxiv is much better in terms of... flavor? Crafting. Like it's very immersive and fun rp wise with the quests and the little tables etc you get. But the specific condition gathering is awful imo and a nightmare. GW2 crafting is very simple. There's no gathering spec, you just buy tools. Some are better than others and some which you can buy with reql money, are infinite. I enjoy both crafters, but for ffxiv it's rp wise, for Gw2 it's 'click button make complete good' smooth brain haha. There are even some hubs that have every crafter station in one space. You gotta go collect stuff via just, mostly naturally playing the game but, imo GW2 crafting is WAY simpler. I wouldn't say there's anything tombstone equivalent. You can get armor in a myriad of ways. Whether that's WvW, I'm exchange for dungeon currency, the events throughout the world, the black lion trading post (market board equivalent), etc. Funnily enough I'd say GW2 armor is WAY more "glam" centric (known as Fashion-Wars) in its mission. You have.. different 'types'. Such as 'rare' 'masterwork' 'exotic' and 'legendary'. I know recently legendary gear got a lot more accessible than it was before. But it's only real difference is its glam capabilities compared to exotic gear (which I think is the level just below legendary). Exotic can basically get you through everything as long as you have the right stats. The nice thing about legendary, is it costs ZERO transmutation charges to change its appearance. Its base appearance animates when you go in and out of combat. And you can switch around it's stats at will without requiring new or destroying old runes. That's my rough understanding of these things. Oh, there's also the mystic forges which is it's own weird thing in crafting lol. But now I'm exhausted, glad to help.

It gets even better (and by better I mean worse). You know how characters have a page on the Lodestone? The link to the character is permanent, so if you have the link to someone's Lodestone page it doesn't matter if they change server or their character name, the link will not change.

I felt like the premades got worse during those times. Just nothing but premades of DRK and AST cheesing entire fights and snowballing to victory.

It's gets worse bc people don't have to win to get their tombs. Then they font try and win

pvp is a joke in this game. I honestly don't know how it's made it this far into the game's lifespan

Omg yes please especially for seasonal furnishing items!! I want to buy several of them for future use, like when they added the ice wall and ceiling, but it just eats up inventory/retainer/store room slots.

​@@chickennugget6684honestly the store room is very small for if you're creating more complex designs in a house. One of my retainers holds a bunch of my seasonal furnishings cause my store room is full. The worst is the outdoor furnishing store room though, 20 slots and they keep giving us seasonal furnishings that can be used outdoors even though they've not increased the cap. And there's no way of getting the furnishings back if you discard them so they just pile up.

@@chickennugget6684 The problem is for people like me that would like to buy several housing decorations to use for decorating the next year. If I had space, I'd have bought about a dozen of the Starlight banners and double banners to hang all over the house. But I don't have space for them in storage and my current retainers are full or other things.

I second the HUD settings transfer! It sucked having to set stuff up on both of my alts all over again and I swear I had to go back and forth between my main and alts just to get things to how I'm used to. They have it between PS4/PS5, why not literally on your account?

The game has a huge amount of settings you can change, it's actually great...but it's confusing as hell and finding what you wanna change and change it exactly the way you want it will require a degree.... I strongly agree with the costumization options

Or just be able to combine all the inventory of our characters on a server. WoW is doing something kinda like that with their upcoming expansions.

Yeah, in the same server with my EU character. Problem is that everyone wants medium/large houses and the vast majority are smalls; I'm convinced the players of the server are playing a waiting game of who caves and buys a small, just so they can have a bidding chance on the wards that will open up later.

@@Karloss00Sadly even for mediums there's like no competition. There were 2 mediums available on my ward (Shiro, subdivision) and each one of them has only one bid. There was a large as well, large which had about 8 bids only. Everything just feels dead.

I dont remember how but in character tab where you switch jobs, you can bind plates to specific jobs. For example if you are in city and you switch to black mage it will automatically equip glamor plate 1, warrior plate 2 and so on.

yeah true that. always just dyed everything soot black and some kind of red. i never really liked how all the higher end dyes are metallic and super shiny.

Almost everything in the cash shop is massively overpriced. Nothing in there should be more expensive than a month's sub, or limited to a single character. Ironically, I'd be more inclined to spend there if it wasn't such a massive rip-off.

@@RockR277I don't even like that it exists. We already have to buy the game and pay a subscription to play on top, so I just don't think it belongs here at all. That said, considering those circumstances, I'd be okay with such a shop selling... a) level skips - provided you already got one job to that level, b) story skips - solely for alts and for content you've already completed at least once on any character c) event rewards - but only because you're too impatient to wait until the for the appropriate seasonal event. d) finished relics - Provided you've gone through the entire process at least once for the appropriate expansion. The premium they charge on mounts and minions is ludicrous. Just consider their collector's editions; you pay a $20 premium per expansion for a a lone minion, a single mount, and a single piece of glamour. Items that after about 1000 sales would cover the full cost of creating them, the database overhead, and the distribution costs for their entire lifetime; and that's after taxes! It's got nothing I'd expect in an actual "collector's" edition either, like a digital PDF artbook.

this. glamours I think are overpriced for being one character only, but i'd be VERY inclined to make a few purchases if they were made to be account wide if i ever wanted to make a new char.

Other things I would add, friendslist stuff is spot on. It weird and blacklisting needs updating, I think it's fine not being able to easily blacklist people personally as then you get some thinskinned people who blacklist over literally anything. Housing is better than it has ever been with lottery, no more stupid stories of people literally staying up days to get a house or bots getting houses ect, its not perfect but its better and only thing that needs redone is gardens need to be equal for everyone. Tomestone cap is dumb as hell, don't know why you cant just grind out tomes.... especially when you can buy MB gear and 90% of players are more than good enough with that, literally just gatekeeping savage players from doing more and I don't even do savage. Mogstations is a scam yes. Legit never buy. Ever. Except snap emote. and playdead and dote thanks. Glam system is meh to me and want more plates, 50 would be ideal but honestly SE should just save it to your system like hotbars.... so you CAN HAVE AS MANY AS YOU WANT AND ITS NOT ON A SERVER. And lastly, grand companies need need need more ranks, so tired of all these darn forgotten and unfinished systems SE puts in the game, LET ME BE A GENERAL AND COMMAND BATTLE FIELD YOU FREAKING LOUTS AT SE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Squadrons are whatever though, just want more ranks and maybe a whole new system at general. As last last note, commanders field jacket is fine aside from rotation on maps and SE really should put more glam behind grindy hard to do achievements plz thanks I want more than weapons to mean you did something cool c:

I still like Zepla's idea of a "frequent flyer's discount". The idea being that kitting out the first job still takes time, but it goes quicker and quicker for every subsequent job.
