Oh godness, the times i thought the video was finally ending and started to scroll into the comments section, only to hear you keep talking about HOW MUCH THERE WAS LEFT and scrolling back in away from the comments. This game is, layers upon layers upon layers. It uses all the anime cliches in the book, yet it feels way too good and well done. BUT, i want to say that i started to cook a theory in the first half of the video; i thought that since we never saw what actually happened in the first cutscene with the MC and Anulis, and that after that he kept her ribbon and wear it, and that some characters described the MC as androgynous, i thought that the big plot twist was that MC was actually Anulis, and the little boy died, but somehow they were put into the cabin wearing his clothes. That would had been such a sick plot twist. “Actually, the girl you had been searching for years was you the entire time.” Trans by the Plot twist. (?)

Just went through your video list. 80% of the videos you DO make on Final Fantasy 14 are negative opinions. Did it ever cross your mind that maybe a company doesn’t want to invite someone who mostly says bad things on their game to a preview of their next DLC? Kinda seems like common sense why you aren’t picked. At the end of the day they are trying to sell a product and want people saying good things. Not click bait videos trying to claim you aren’t gonna play anymore but then sadly to the rest of us, you still are. You said it yourself, you been making content for other games and it’s doing well for you. So maybe take that as a sign and ACTUALLY stop playing FF14. Move on! You clearly don’t like it from your videos on it anyways. So just part ways and go play these others amazing games you now make videos for!

I finished the game now. But now I'm not sure what to do. I think I got the bad ending. I saved her and spent the life with her together. And I didn't make any save states before decisions. I accidentally switched save state once in a while, so maybe I can go back, but I'm not even sure if that's the way to go. I think there were four decisions: 1. Should I make a deal with Astrea to go back in time? 2. Should I go back in time to save Elysium? 3. Should I go back in time to save Anulis or go back to my friends? 4. Should I stay with Anulis or should I search for Karon? Staying with my friends is probably the right decision at 3. Anulis isn't dead. She's obviously the fake princess. Or maybe it's a linear game, and the decisions only end the game early? Because when I reload the last save state, which is before the last decision, it looks like I get an extra chapter. Besides that, there are the fights against the flying boy. What if I win them? Do they change the story? And the fight in Elysium: Can I defeat the soldiers instead of teleporting? Or after making the deal with Astrea: Does it matter what I have put into the scales? And can I put different things into the box? Besides that there are a few secret areas. One in the vulcano, one in Akrasinon and one in Elysium. Are they just optional content for later? Or do they also influence the story? Especially Akrasinon has this area, which has a warning that I can never come back when I go there. Is this an alternative route or something? I guess it's time to continue watching this video now.

1:17:00 Now that's where I am now. But I missed the second love (I lost Shiro in the past). I wonder if I should even continue playing or rather replay the part before? Nah, replaying is too cumbersome. I guess I'll just continue playing from there. It's just difficult without Karon. It seems I can't even summon demons.

This unfortunately *was true* about FFXIV a decade ago, mentors used to be that obnoxious then. But it isn't like that now. As for race stats, they only make a difference at end game when you're comparing the top players at parsing in the world to each other and there is a 0.1% difference in damage because of 1 to 3 additional base strength or agility. Race stats *used* to matter back when Piety was a stat only if your main was Astro and this was when Astro was dependent on Piety because their mana management was terrible, but that was during Stormblood and Heavensward. The only time race stats mattered that effected the entire game itself, was back in ARR when the level cap was 50 and end game stats were around Strength 60, Agility 60. Yeah back then 1 to 3 points made a *massive* difference. This was back when FFXIV was modelled after WoW and with it carried over the worst elements of WoW, such as elemental resistance, elemental damage and attack speed/spell speed - which was important back then because auto-attacks dictated your damage, not your combos, in fact most jobs didn't use combos in ARR, with Monk being especially janky.

Aight, last week I found this video, yesterday I completed base(d) game at 100% completion on Hard difficulty. Worth the time, money, and emotional slaps to the face. It really hits that hard, even when I (unfortunately) already knew the twists and turns due to my decision to podcast this while working. Started up Gaiden right after and immediately got hooked all over again. A bit heavy on the fanservice (especially the choice of outfits you can buy, but after some of the bosses in base game I pretty much expected it) but filled with QoL improvements and really cool roguelite elements. Hope you end up covering the DLC someday, maybe just a small side video?

Paused the video at like 8 minutes in to grab it on switch. Almost 60 hours later I just beat it (after like 3 fake outs) Thank you for recommending this so strongly, it can't be overstated how much i loved every minute of playing it.

Kougaon is, in my opinion, probably some of the best FF14 coverage. (The only thing funnier is Pint, which is more satire than actual criticism). You're other videos are just as good. I wholly support moving on to other games. They don't deserve you.
