I loved this movie so much, at first I thought it was a bit goofy and the jokes were a bit for kids, but it got so much better, but it was so much better than I thought, honestly loved it. One of my favourite parts of this movie was Rachel, she was honestly hilarious, laughed so hard at the wedding scene.

Honestly I gotta say, this is the definition of a cute fun movie! The scenes with Sonic and Tails are so adorable and the action scenes are amazing! Knuckles was done justice and Knuckles was so much fun to watch and his fight scenes with Sonic are action packed! And of course Jim Carey is living it up in this movie! Overall I loved this movie and I am going to watch it again, definitely better than the original movie! I will give it an 8/10! Edit: honestly I would push my rating to 8.5/10, this movie was that good and fun! I could nitpick this movie but it didn’t bother me when watching the movie. I can’t wait for Sonic the Hedgehog 3!

@@righteousrawb7225 I would think they would recast the former Shadow voice actor from the video games but if they decide to recast him, I would think it would have to be a guy like Pedro Pascal who can play a dark and silent character like Shadow.

The reason for the cabin scene with Sonic and Tails, was to just show a bond forming between them in the quickest way possible. It showed that Tails is not one for taking action but feels confidence through the actions and personality of Sonic, who is Tails' hero. The scene was a little weird but it served it's purpose.

I was impressed by the fact that all the main characters have an arc and they end in a different place than when the movie started. It really showed they put a lot of care into developing the characters. I disagree about Tails. I thought his reasons for coming to Earth were very clear and his arc was heartwarming. The movie is perfect for fans thanks to all the Easter Eggs and it's absolutely thrilling seeing Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles together on the big screen. It's also a great family movie as it deals with themes of acceptance, friendship, and family. Finally, with acceptance being one of the main themes I find is the perfect movie for April (Autism Awareness Month). Mayor kudos to Paramount, the writers, the actors, and Jeff Fowler who I bet will become a hot commodity soon.

I had my 3rd screening with this movie and boy, it's still making me tear up! Going up to my 4th and 5th screening tomorrow back to back. This movie is a lot of fun, and seeing the shots and of course the Death Egg Robot on the big screen, was a massive treat!

1.) This first Sonic movie was not a reboot of anything. It was an adaptation of Sonic. 2.) The first Sonic the Hedgehog film was not a fantastic movie and the sequel being better in any way is not exactly some impossible feat to achieve. Your giving these films more credit than they deserve.

@@m.a.k.dynasty4504 i will say firstly; he has a point, if it was paramount then we gotta talk about the Halo TV show they have rn and although the art design is immaculate (aside from a few bad cgi moments) it isn't very good as a show with even the creaters not taking time try to integrate much of the lore or history of games or books dedicated to Halo. And as such creates poor moments of dialogue and sometimes parts that can be outright disrespect of a very popular IP. What i will say tho in the other guys favor is that these movies are some of brighter moments we see from either a film studio/company/or directors take on an established IP. I mean take a look at The Batman is it 100% accurate to comics hell no but its a very well made and damn good movie to watch alongside taking notes on the source material and maybe improving bit of it to make it fit inside the movie. That is great flimmaking. And in my opinion the sonic movies do that well enough. I mean the studio has listened to people about some of the effects or cgi in the sonic movies so yes i think alil fan service in any movie where its taking source material from is absolutely warrented but theres a fine line between giving enough and flat out copying an entire storyline.

After growing up with the sonic tv series , comics and video games to actually see the 2nd movie was unreal. The part near the end where sonic & co are running after eggman, i got chills, as it was exactly like the Sonic Heroes intro. It was a little bit emotional as i thought..... they have actually done it.

i grew up with sonic. i played a ton of the games and watched the cartoons in my basement. now, 21 years old, i’m not ashamed to say i cried a number of times during (and after 👀) this movie. if you’re a fan, you can not miss this. i loved it. 💙

The new sonic movie comic explains why Tails is going to find sonic it's like a prequel and it even has knuckles in it. But the bad part is it kinda sucks how they didn't explain it in the movie

Thanks for your review Chris, now we are super hyped!! I wasn't a big Sonic fan even though I grew up in the 90's! However, my kids were obsessed with the first Sonic movie. I started liking the movie, we have been waiting for Sonic2 for a long time. We are super excited to take the kids to the movies next week. After, not being to the movies in 2 years due to Covid!!

Watching this movie gave me the nostalgia when the first Sonic Movie released. I watched that movie 8 times in a theater and i will never forget my first reaction of that movie. The movie series is the reason why i got into Sonic fandom and wanting to learn more about the Sonic story such as games and investing on it because before the first movie, i was not into it other then the fandom controversy at the time.

You definitely need to play any of the Sonic games to get the proper experience. The first film in my opinion is not at all a good representation of the Sonic franchise or character. The second film, I'll have to see.

Although i did play Sonic Forces and Mania and while i do have TSR at my library for PS+, i have not play it yet. As for Sonic Colours Ultimate, i am planning to buy it once the massive discount is up. I just don't have the time to play as it use to and doesn't help that it's very hard to find old Sonic games such as Adventure era. However, i hope i can play Sonic Origins.

I really can't wait. I wasn't particularly interested in seeing the first one, but watched it one night because nothing else was on... and I ended up regretting not seeing it sooner. I thought it was great... so much better than I had expected. Then I see the trailer for the sequel and I'm genuinely excited.

I couldnt agree more, seen it april1st(UK release) and I cant remember the last time I had SO much fun watching a movie, even over Spiderman. I was shocked how it went all in and just was the movie I always dreamed about as a kid. I really didnt get the Critic mediocre reviews but yes, you are right. If you are not a Sonic fan..its really weird as logic and scenes for 2 hours long :D But man..I am in love with this movie

I just read the "pre-quill" comic and I highly recommend you give it a read if you haven't already, because there are a few noteworthy things in there that are worth talking about. You can save it for the spoiler review, though, since the comic is connected to the movies.

Great video there. Just seen it myself. Have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great characters, great action sequences, great references to both the games and other media. Some nice moments throughout as well. Already booked to see it again.

I actually teared up and had one fall DURING the dace off scene because of 1. Sonic being supportive big brother to Tails (who looked so insecure and unsure of himself) 2. Their synchronized moves were cute as hecc. 3. I was watching Sonic and Tails be bro's again after so long, it made me go "this relationship is the heart of the movie". or at least it should have been but Sonic forms and strengthens other relationships here.

Going to watch it tomorrow! I thought the first film was great, but felt that certain aspect of the film were not so great. The trailers for sonic 2 have just looked phenomenal so I have high hopes for it
