Its the fact that Rouge and Omega will continue to stand by Shadow even if the world turns on him, makes this scene hit hard. Two true friends to the end.

The part where Shadow says, "If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have," that's my favorite Shadow moment of all time. I think I'll use that as my motto.

Despite the failure of '06, I feel like this is the first game where they actually nailed Shadow's character as a whole, both in story and gameplay. I know the game was glitchy but it was nice that they didn't just make his gameplay style a direct clone of Sonic's, and this game really helped develop him into his own character. I really wish they would've done more with Shadow after this game.

I love that beginning scene, because when you think about everything Shadow has been through, Mephiles is right to question his actions. But Shadow, at this point in time is certain of himself, and upholds his promise to Maria.

As much as I hate this game, I will admit that Shadows last line in this, along with the act of him taking off the Inhibitor Rings, is incredibly badass

I feel like 06 Shadow was Shadow at his absolute best. It was like he had finally become who he was meant to be, and had fully come to terms with who he was, and his past. He was a strong silent badass, with a heart of gold. and even though he hardly ever showed it, He would fight and die for his friends. Shadow was a Hero. Then they shit all over him in the next several games, and comics.

Let's just be completely honest here. This game was about Shadow. His story had the best and most relevant plotline, the best levels, the best music, the best final boss fight and the best villain to top it off. For a game that celebrates Sonic's 15th Birthday, they sure do put a lot of emphasis not on "GOTTA GO FAST" but instead putting focus onto "After the world was devastated by Iblis' flames, what do you think happened? A search for the guilty." Sanic o6, ladies and gentlemen.

Shadow’s line at the end is more relevant now than ever in these times.

One thing I love about this scene is that Rouge and Omega, before Shadow even moves, get ready to go because they know Shadow well enough to know that he’s about to say something cool and blow something up.

1:49 I love the little step Rouge and Omega make to get behind and closer to Shadow (the only safe spot during the attack). It's a small detail, but it conveys a lot about all the times they worked together that no real conversation is needed in order to work as a team. Rouge and Omega know Shadow so well they recognize all the signs and adjust themselves accordingly.

This game was indeed bad, but it did succeed in one thing: Shadow. He was handled perfectly from his game. No shouting Maria every 5 minutes, no guns or swearing (wtf), no being a complete jerk either (Unlike his Boom counterpart), just ordinary, awesome, badass Shadow. Couldn't be better.

Most badass scene in Sonic, ever

I always wanted Shadow's shoes.

That orchestral rendition of "All Hail Shadow" in the background when he takes off his rings tho. I love his arc in this story so much. It proves that once upon a time, Sega gave a shit about characters other than Sonic. Now, Shadow's a one-dimensional edgelord with no substance. In this, he was dark, but there was more than just edginess. He was a balanced, badass character who was far more realistic than Sonic at the time. He had struggles and tragedy, but learnt to overcome than, making him far more engaging than the "my friends are my power", happy go lucky crap we get nowadays. rant over, i love shadow. bye

While this scene is easily my most favorite scene from the entire franchise and sums up everything i love about Shadow its bittersweet for me casue the game's horrible legacy completely overshadows what an epic and moving scene this was.

The thing I love most from this whole story is what set the dynamic for Team Dark. Whether it's still the case now or not is a bit up in the air, but I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise in games after this, so I'm sticking to it since, despite this timeline being erased or whatever, factors still remain. It's revealed that if Shadow were to ever lose it and go on a rampage on humanity and others with his power, oddly enough the only one that is able to stop him is Omega. Apparently at some point in the future, that's exactly what happened and Omega was reprogrammed by people to make Shadow his primary target and take him out. He succeeded, and having no more purpose, shut himself down. Shadow learned of this, and despite that knowledge, he still sticks around with Omega and Rouge for their team. I'd like to think Shadow doesn't want to lose himself like that and would rather not go on a rampage despite what may cause him to. So he keeps Omega close by in the event that day may come, knowing Omega is the only one capable of stopping him.

Shadow's mindset is really inspiring. Staying true to who you are and want to be is something worth fighting for.

I like how shadow and silver's storys are important while sonic's story HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING!!!!!!!

This game, as bad as it is, is by far one of the best representations of Shadow's character in the entire series. He keeps fighting for himself or for those he loves despite the fact people may or may not turn against him. Out of every character in the game, Shadow is the only one who's story ends with his team. Shadow is also, arguably, the true main character of this game; the same could be said about Silver.

How did the games go from telling epic in depth stories like this, to having lame comedic stories with no emotion and one sided characters with no depth.

1:49 is such an important mini detail. Rouge and Omega know that Shadow is no pushover. You can’t really “egg” him on because he will always do what he set out to do … and they will back him every step of the way.

the shadow has a steel personality that allows him to remain calm and collected even in the most difficult situations, and his enormous power adapts perfectly to the personality, the shadow is perfect throughout.

Shadow is and always will be my favorite sonic character

I feel like shadow was at his peak in this game. Adventure 2 he was a villain until the end, he got a amazing start but he wasn’t fully developed, in hero’s he lost his memory and had to start all over, in shadow the hedgehog be he was out of character most of the game, but at the end he had faced his past and the problems it caused in the present. In 06 he was facing the future, he was over revenge, he was over seeing others below him, he had made friends that he was loyal to and they were loyal to him. They took that and expanded on it. Even when omega is going to be the one who take him down he’s hurt, but omega still cares for shadow and they try to (and succeed in) carving there own fate. He will protect people even if they don’t like him because that’s the right thing to do. Shame the game was garbage

I consider this game to be Shadow's last ride, it's the last time he's ever a major character in a Sonic game and it's the last time he genuinely feels like Shadow, now he's reduced to meaningless cameos where he acts completely out of character.

Shadows story was the best out of all of them. His side of the story explained everything. He was the only one who was chasing after the bad guy while everyone was on a wild goose chase that didn’t add up.

Team Dark was easily the best part of Sonic 2006

Having just seen the 2nd movie, I very very much hope that we get far enough in the Sonic movie franchise to have a scene like this for Shadow on the big screen.

I find it amusing that, in both the canon story and the Real Time Fandub, something that Omega says earlier in the story is later used by Shadow in this cutscene to make a riposte to Mephiles. In the canon story, Omega says *_"When something or someone is seen as too powerful, it is seen as a threat, and then the world becomes its enemy."_* Later, Shadow says his famous line: _"If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have."_ Meanwhile, in the fandub, Omega does the equally famous "count how many sand there is" gag, which is later used to insult Mephiles. _"Omega, count how many mouths he has."_ *_"OK. ........"_* _"Yeah, exactly. You ain't got no mouths, bitch."_

You gotta love how when Mephiles mentions about those who will turn on Shadow later, Omega and Rouge immediately stood by Shadow's side showing they are loyal friends of his and won't care whether the world sees him as an enemy or not they will remain by his side. This, THIS right here is why I insist that Shadow should've been immune to the Metal Virus, he's basically a sealed Super form and Sonic recovered the moment he went into Super Sonic form.

This is why mephiles is my favourite villain in the sonic series. Just the atmosphere around him and the manipulation of silver and the impairment of sonic. And of course shadow is a fucking cool character, pretty much 06 shadow took his games rendition and removed the unnecessary kiddy swears. Shadows story is one of the reasons I enjoy 06, definitely the darker side of the game.
