I use an XH2 for my commercial professional work, and traded in a lumix GH6 for a sony a 7iv. I should really make a review of real world work with each but im not a reviewer. I use red badge fuji glass, and G Master glass on sony. I'd say I have comparable glass on both. Honest opinion in real world use, it's a flat draw. I would honestly say each has its own absolutely fantastic strengths. As a professional in both photo and video, commercial work, they are both fantastic tools. Personally I'd say if autofocus is your number one priority, go sony. I use manual focus far more than auto... so to me it's a draw. I believe a7iv downsamples from 7k, and fuji from 8k. So I don't see a difference in their highest quality 4k output, in terms of quality. If I need higher resolution for any project i.e. 6k or 8k output... fuji is fantastic. And footage looks great. Most people probably will not need those resolutions, depending on the types of projects they do. Sony also has a slight advantage in low light, due to larger sensor.

@AATxindurri
@AATxindurri Жыл бұрын
@@trinhhoangducloc It depends on the type of photography you do. The X100F with a fixed lens helps to be more creative and the focal length (35mm equivalent) is good for street photography. You can add teleconverters but I think they are too expensive for what they offer. On the other hand, with the X-E4 the advantage is to exchange lenses and the sensor is the fourth generation XTrans. In my opinion, it has better performance than the previous generation. It is fast enough and very discreet for its size. I would recommend the version with the 27mm WR (40mm equivalent) kit lens. Over time you can add lenses with focal lengths that you like.

Been using Fujifilm for 8 years and I almost switched from an X-T3 to the Sony A7iv. I chose not to (yet) because after factoring in the cost of the camera and lenses it would've been around $4000. I love the quality and size of my Fujifilm cameras and the reason to switch would be to get full frame and better auto focus, and I know full frame does make a difference but for my use cause it's not enough for me to pay that much to switch, and I've been happy with the autofocus on my X-T3, I've even shot soccer games with it and it nails fast moving players 95% of the time. Plus, the size of Fujifilm cameras and smaller lenses is really nice! So I'm going to get a used X-T4 for now. When the Sony A7iv price drops down to around $1000 used, I'll be very tempted to switch over to that system!

I own both and agree with everything said on this video. One major thing for me that was left out was Fuji film sims and color. If your using these for personal use, this can make a big difference. The Sony will need editing, at least for my taste. The XH2 EVF is crazy good and when switching back and forth the difference is noticable. That said, the normal range ISO RAW files aren't that noticably different, which I think is impressive for Fuji. Unfortunately for my wallet, at this time I'm keeping both.

I understand that if you want to take pictures without the need for editing, the Fuji with its simulations is probably the best. But if you are interested in buying a camera for this amount of money, I think most are not just going to take the jpeg and use it without any editing. I certainly wouldn't, so I personally don't really see the selling point of film simulations in such high end cameras.

I’m curious as well. I’m shooting the XT3 now. I’d like to be confident enough to be reckless with the camera. I hike long distances in warm weather and typically have a pack with a bladder in it. Carrying a camera specific bag isn’t an option. My goal is a camera that is rugged enough to be intermingled in a day pack. The XT3 has held up, but is showing some wear. My hope is that the XH2 with fewer button and a screen that can be turned inward will fit the bill.

Basically Sony still has rock solid reliable AF while Fuji while improved can hit/miss depending on situation,. What if you used CL LOW SPEED BURST to closer match with the A7IV 10fps. Would the in-focus hit rate be better or 100% like Sony? From a user experience looking in the EVF Sony AF tracking box moved more smooth/pleasant. Fuji displays it more choppy or flicker? Trying to save battery or conserve CPU resources? Does it matter if in performance mode or not? Don't like the 3 new iso/wb/custom button position on the right hand. Felt awkward to press if finger is already on the shutter. Need to shift hand grip position to reach. I've used the X-H1 for years and rarely looked at the top LCD screen.

In your case, you should ask yourself what you want from the new camera that the xs10 can't provide for you. For me, I'm pretty happy with my xs10 and I would love more megapixels to shoot artwork properly, so the xh2 (with the pixel shift) is perfect, and as a bonus, they both share the same lens mount. The xs10 is great for me at the moment tho, I just bought it and i am watching this video because of the eager to know whats next hehehehe. The plan is to glue the 27mm f2.8 in the xs10 for the small compact combo, and leave the hx2 mostly for home/studio cases, with the 33mm f1.4. But for you, it could be low light performance, lens selection, etc, so the sony could be a better pair. hope this helps.

@WillJBailey Жыл бұрын
@@renatobfa The XS10 really is a marvel for street and travel photography - the images you can get from such a small device is incredible. It goes everywhere with me. But no weather sealing or dual card slots is an issue - I hope Fuji fixes that with the next version (I suspect they won't as it's supposed to be a budget amateur camera). But the resolution isn't high enough for photographing artwork, so it's always a b cam for me. The XH2 ticks so many boxes, but buying new is painful - as is downsizing to APSC (from an EOSR), when the camera is still quite big. Does make up for it though with the ace small lenses and Fuji colours.

@@qubertzumfurstenstein7885 Actually they are almost always bigger than equivalent FF lenses. Their F2.8 zooms are significantly bigger than F4 FF zooms (sometimes bigger even than F2.8 FF zooms), and same story goes for F1.2 or F1.4 primes vs FF F1.8 or F2 primes. Newest Fuji primes are excellent in terms of optics, but older lenses leave a lot to be desired. You can see in this video that Fuji 16-55 F2.8 is visibly poorer than Sigma 24-70 2.8, and that's the best standard zoom available for Fuji right now.

@GoodFellas I have done this. This is NOT my first Sony camera. Before that I had a a6300 then a a6400 and I’m very well aware of high temp settings. This does not change the fact that the camera gets HOT in idle mode. This tells me that the heat management in the a7iv is not good.

Not really. Fuji makes much smaller cameras, such as X-S10 or X-E4. Making the camera smaller than A7 IV / X-H2 size would negatively affect the handling, which would be an issue with a camera in this category.

But I always had it with me and resultingly got good footage; poetic videos in film festivals, sometimes winning prizes. Fuji is covering the whole range of perfect lenses. Viltrox 13mm F1.4, Fuji 18mm, 23 and 33 F1.4, the new macro and the 56mm, the 90mm F2, the Samyang 135mm F2, (best lens ever) the 200mm and the 150-600mm. Sony just has better zooms in some ranges, so fits lazy people better. But the categories where Fuji wins, they actually dominate. People who complain about Fuji lenses are buying the wrong ones for the sensor they have. If you have the X-H2, the *only* options are the ones I just mentioned. And they're fantastic options.
@TheHybridShooter
@TheHybridShooter Жыл бұрын
Not really. Even some of the newer lenses have significant issues, such as very loud AF motor on the new 18mm F1.4. A lot of lenses are due for an update, especially the zooms. Sony has a better selection in every aspect, X-mount realistically doesn't beat E-mount lens selection in any category. The statement that the zoom lenses are for lazy people it a complete nonsense of course.

If compare the stills in this video, it’s pretty clear that the Fuji delivered much cleaner, crisp detailed photos. The color science is fantastic. BTW I have a Sony so no bias here. Don’t get me wrong The a7iv is a great camera.II have an a6400 now and am ready to upgrade and trying to decide between these two cameras. The a6400 does have af but it’s just okay and does not have bird tracking and active tracking. Though the Sony has better tracking, seems to me Fuji is not that far behind and I would be happy with either of the two cameras. I believe Fuji has taken the correct steps to try to improve AF by releasing updates with the latest one in May. You’ve got to admit the photos on the Fuji are fantastic and that’s what is making my decision a bit more difficult? I would be using the camera primarily for bird and wildlife photography.

Such comparisons always amuse me. KZfaqr probably doesn't realize that crop and FF have different depth of field. So I can shoot 1 EV less with crop than with FF. Fuji has way better colors directly after transfer from RAF. Tuning SONY colors is much more tedious. I'm not even talking about video options. Fuji has much better ones.
